Could it be any colder outside? Although it’s almost unimaginable, it honestly could be. But that doesn’t mean that wearing a pair of fuzzy sweatpants and sipping on hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows while indulging in Fifty Shades of Grey or Sex and the City re-runs in bed doesn’t sound like the perfect option. However, there’s still work, school, traveling, parties, and other life responsibilities that we all have to attend to. Therefore, we still have to get dressed and keep it chic despite these cold temperatures, so get inspired by some cute pieces (accessories, shoes, clothing, beauty products–whatever it may be) that will make you want to get dressed up this chilly season.

Dolce Vita Nolita

In Accessories, Clothing, Shoes on January 22, 2013 at 8:47 AM

Towards the land of some of Manhattan’s best and most authentic pasta, cannoli, and other Italian food specialities is the home of Dolce Vita‘s flagship store in Nolita (aka Little Italy).

The rustic-chic store, located at 255 Elizabeth Street, is comprised of racks stocked to the brim, currently in favor of those in need of a resort-wear wardrobe boost, the brand’s footwear collection and even cute accessories to go along with them. The cool layout makes shopping fun around the store’s perimeter, especially due to all of the colorful options in both solids and patterns.

And not to mention, get a little energy along your shopping way with mini Luna Bars by the store’s seating area.

Skirting Through Fall, Winter, and Even Spring

In Clothing on November 12, 2012 at 10:59 AM

As the temperatures start to cool on down Winter style, you might feel eager to reach out for your most comfortable pair of jeans, sweatpants, and leggings. However, your office dress-code most likely would not be satisfied with either of those options. A chic and winter appropriate alternative are the combination of tights and skirts, which will help balance out your heavy sweaters, blazers, and jackets galore. Not to mention, they will last you into the spring when paired with the right tops. Below are my favorite skirts that will make a statement at the office while keeping you from feeling “brrr“.

4 More Years of Chic: Michelle Obama

In Clothing on November 7, 2012 at 12:03 PM

That’s right Style Solutions readers–we’ve got four more years of chic with First Lady Michelle Obama. The ever-so-stylish fashionista looked darling during the Presidential Election last night (a major congratulations to President Obama!) in a deep burgundy Michael Kors dress while supporting her husband at his victory speech. Although a repeat from an appearance in November 2011, this outfit shows that Michelle isn’t afraid of re-wearing pieces in her closet–she is a true everyday American woman. Paired with a black cardigan and black kitten-heeled pumps, Michelle looked elegant, approachable, and sophisticated, all qualities we have come to know and love from her first term as First Lady. While Barack rocked the vote, Michelle continues to make a fashion statement. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for the inaugural ball in January.

Coats To Lust Over & Warm Up To

Rag & Bone

When we think about our favorite time of year, we’re immediately drawn to a familiar scene. In the fall, I think of toasty Sunday brunches at Balthazar with my family, walking in Central Park from the East Side to the West Side (with a reward of chocolate arugula at Aroma), quick escapes to the Hamptons for apple picking and the locally-famous Pumpkin Town, and cheeks cool to the touch.

At this time, there is nothing better than layering up with a chic and easy everyday jacket. It’s the perfect starting point when in the midst of shopping your fall wardrobe, and I’m particularly loving the structured shoulder and streamline cut in both bright and dark hues and funky partners.

Take inspiration from my favorite lust-worthy jackets above to find the right jacket at the right price for you.

October is the epitome of pumpkin spiced lattes, leather jackets, booties, autumn leaves, apple pies, and pink.

It also marks Breast Cancer Awareness month, so add some ounces of pink to your wardrobe to honor and support the cause. Be it a standout beauty set, a chunky cocktail ring, a graphic tee, or a motorcycle jacket, all of the items above benefit BCA and are super chic.

As fashion and philanthropy continues to merge, I love and appreciate that designers and brands are launching items that speak to women ranging from the girly girl to the accessory lover (definitely me) and the beauty junkie.

So think pink this month, and don’t feel too guilty about splurging a little, because shopping for a cause does make a difference.

Who is New York’s purple crush a la moment? Bergdorf Goodman. The luxury department store is head-to-toe purple for fall. I’m loving the glamorous atmosphere of the store windows, which makes me think of romantic horse carriage rides in Central Park and extravagant galas with ball gowns galore Pretty Woman style. Piperlime’s NYC Flagship

In Clothing on September 15, 2012 at 12:05 AM

New seasons bring new beginnings, and by the end of this month, a whopping 21 new stores will open somewhere around the island of Manhattan. One opening that I am extremely excited about, which became available to shoppers a few days before FNO, is Gap-owened e-commerce site Piperlime. The site has experimented with pop-up shops in the past, but now the company has opened its first brick-and-mortar store right in the heart of Soho.

The space is airy with fabulous merchandise for everyone, from the Nanette Lepore and Rachel Roy lover to the unique brand-obsessed and girl under a $100 budget. Every piece is versatile, and I love how the store is merchandised like the website. Par exemple, items are grouped into seasonal trends (got to love color clashing!) and picks from Piperlime’s retail gurus Rachel Zoe and Olivia Palermohighlighted on their own racks. I did extremely well, finding pieces from a gold metallic mini skirt and [faux] leather jacket to a chunky gold cuff. You must go! 121 Wooster Street, New York, NY.

Plaid is becoming the leader of trends for fall/winter. I can’t wait for some chilly fall days to mix and match these update classics, especially warm button down shirts with leggings, booties, and an oversized tote.

The print is continuously growing up from its school-girl days (believe me, I was one of them) and is becoming a cool, edgy, and must-have print. Whether worn via a shirt, scarf, shoes, handbag, or jeans, there are many ways to implement pops of plaid into your wardrobe. I own the AG Jeans above and am looking forward to playing around with them and making them perhaps even edgier with the help of some sexy shoes and chunky accessories.

Topshop’s latest and most glittery collab is with London designer Louise Gray. She is one of the most vibrant and innovative designers to grace the London fashion scene, making her collaboration with Topshop an organic and most certainly sparkly fit. I’ve always loved sequins, so this was exciting news to me. Think bold, bright and girly sequin galore, from party dresses, blouses, and tees to shimmering glitter pots, fluoro eye-palettes, and much more. I wouldn’t necessarily wear sequins during the day, but they are great for night. It’s important to wear them in moderation–one touch (a shirt, a jacket, etc) per outfit is just enough.

Above are my favorites from the Louise Gray for Topshop collection. What’s catching your eye?

The College Wardrobe Necessities

In Accessories, Clothing, Shoes on August 26, 2012 at 3:43 PM

Rebecca Minkoff Blair Clutch $350

The first of many tests that you’ll face this college semester? Packing your wardrobe! Space is limited, so it’s super critical to edit your wardrobe down to the essentials (and maybe a few extra special items just for the heck of it).

One of the most important things to keep in mind is that you won’t have time to change every day before going out at night. You want easy, accessible, versatile, and trendy pieces that are still somewhat basic and fit your personal style. Staples like the chambray shirt for pairing with everything from a pencil skirt and jeans to a dress via jacket vibe, a pair of flats for running around your dorm and classes, a sexy dress for those nights that require a pair of heels, a cocktail ring for any outfit that needs some glam, and a clutch are key items to focus on.

These pieces will fit right inside your closet and continue to reappear throughout the year with the help of some different styling methods, makeup, and accessories.  Ace it!

Polka Dot Palooza

In Accessories, Clothing, Shoes on July 27, 2012 at 12:00 AM

I’ve recently been going through this semi-awkward phase in my wardrobe where I don’t feel like constantly wearing summer clothes. I’ve been leaning towards pieces that are year round classics, and can be spiced up with mini doses of summer trends like neons and pastels via shoes and accessories. So, I’m adoring prints more than ever, and polka dots are spot-on with my wearabouts. Whether large or small in size, polka dots add a simple and feminine aspect to your wardrobe, whether you’re hitting the Hamptons for the weekend or a vacation in Paris. And if you haven’t taken a stab at the print since let’s say..I don’t know..when you were a little girl, be one of the first to bring it back.

Pop Goes My Heart

In Accessories, Beauty, Clothing, Shoes on July 21, 2012 at 12:00 AM

Pop art has always had a place in my heart.

My mother’s side of the family is from Pittsburgh, PA, the home of Andy Warhol, so I’ve spent time at his museum, indulging in his bright colors, interpretations of iconic people, and overall unique style. I also adore the work of Roy Lichtenstein, another pop art icon.

This era of art seems to be making a mark on the fashion trends, a “come back”, thanks to the likes of Phillip Lim, Lulu Guinness, and more. Even less expensive brands like Topshop and ASOS have taken a stab at the coolness, too.

The colors, abstract images, designs, and old-school yet super cool vibe makes me love all of the pop art-inspired fashion galore. From iPhone cases and kitsch soaps to cosmetic cases, sweaters (think fall), glittery nail polish, bold clutches and then some, the options are endless.

So, indulge in my favorites below.

From left to right: Andy Warhol Brooch $115, 3.1 Phillip Lim T-shirt $220, Lulu Guinness Clutch $390, Topshop Fresh Soap $10, ASOS Necklace $8, 3.1 Phillip Lim PVC and Leather Pouch $375, Topshop Scrub Soap $10, Stella McCartney Sandals $364, Campbell’s Soup Earrings $8, Topshop  Sweater $76, Marc Jacobs Perfume $88, Bond No. 9 Perfume $180, Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish $20, iPhone Case $14

All Hail Miu Miu

I absolutely adore Miu Miu this season. From classic dresses and embellished shoes to sparkly sunglasses and playful earrings, Miu Miu has kept us fashionistas gladly entertained. Plus, there is a rather large use of color, most noticeable in the cheery accessories. Miu Miu’s over-the-top silhouettes and patterns also make the line simply irresistable. Although the brand is pricey, it’s sale season, so you can snag your favorite Miu Miu galore at a much (but not too much) better price.

Christopher Kane is one of my favorite, and rather new, designers. His spring collection optimizes all of the qualities I look for when going shopping, pieces that aren’t boring, have a glam factor, are colorful, and just aren’t the same old look that you can see elsewhere. His collection also emphasizes the revival of the 60s, inspired by his childhood and youth. Iridescent fabrics featuring floral patterns and structured shapes, and highlights including crystal embellished tops, cute cut-outs, sheer coats with grungy prints, and simple items like neon t-shirts and rainbow deluxe scarves, are executed beautifully. Trending With Peplum

In Celebrities, Clothing on April 27, 2012 at 12:00 AM

Making a return from the ’80s, peplum is back in style and is one of the hautest trends of the season. Coming in a variety of shapes, sizes, silhouettes, and colors, there are many ways to experiment with the peplum trend while still showing your personal flare. You can go as sweet as subtle delicate to as edgy as mega statement. But most importantly, it’s about finding a style that you feel comfortable in. Although it might look as if a random piece of extra fabric was added to your hips, it can actually be quite a flattering silhouette.

Celebrity fashionistas Blake Lively, Emma Stone and Jennifer Aniston have all mastered the trend. Plus, they all added the perfect amount of simple yet statement-making accessories for a sleek and chic look. Inspired by these 3 fashion darlings, below are my favorite peplum pieces.

Blue Trench Coat Craze

In Clothing on April 10, 2012 at 12:36 AM

Blake Lively

Rachel Zoe

Whether under stormy or sunny skies, these fashionistas know how to keep their cool, especially in blue trench coats. A colorful take on the classic jacket, a trench is a consistent Spring favorite and is an essential piece for every woman to have in their wardrobe.

Every year, the trench comes back in a new and improved way with different fits, colors and shapes. They are practical while still stylish, and with this season’s bold hues, you can say goodbye to khaki and say to hello to some color. We’re also seeing some new fabrics, such as soft leathers, which have been seen on Rachel Zoe. The fit and shape of trenches seem to be more feminine this year, so it’s fun to combine them with some edgier pieces underneath to play with that soft and hard look. I just invested in a Marc Jacobs trench and can’t wait to show you how I styled it.

So before you run out the door, take a moment to throw on your trench for a fast yet put-together look.

It’s full of bloggers, celebs, music junkies and of course talent, making it the place to be. The lineup is incredible, including David Guetta, Radio Head, The Black Keys and Avicii. The key to getting your groove on while still looking concert-chic is wearing light pieces that protect you from the sun, (it takes place outside) incorporating pops of color, and being comfortable. Picking Peaches

In Clothing on March 30, 2012 at 8:33 AM

Spring would not be complete without splashes of peach. The girly hue acts as a nude and can easily be incorporated into your wardrobe, be it a blazer, ring, shoe, or even nail polish. Pastels have been taking over stores this season, favorites including mint and lilac. Now, peach (the sorbet-like pastel) has made it’s mark in the pact and is continuing to rise in popularity in the ever-so-haute trend.

The key to mastering this hue is to pick your peaches wisely. Don’t go overboard with more than 2 peach pieces per outfit. Combine them with other nudes for a more classic look, or spice it up by adding complementary pastels, or better yet, why not a neon?

Although pastels might seem like a nice substitute for when you’re not in the mood to be bright, don’t be afraid of combining them as it can create a nice hard-soft contrast.

Below are my favorite peach pieces.

Popbar’s Fashionable Popaholic

In Clothing, Food on March 4, 2012 at 1:27 AM

Yesterday was another Saturday spent downtown, but this week in Gramercy Park and Christopher Street. I felt like I was on an eating adventure, trying different food all day–from Murray’s Cheese and Amy’s Bread to Sockerbit and my new favorite place, Popbar, an adorable popsicle shop with hand-crafted gelato on a stick made with all natural ingredients.

The popsicles are extraordinarily refreshing and tasty, coming in a wide range of flavors such as banana and blood orange, which are two of my favorites. You can customize your popsicle experience by dipping them into chocolate sauce and toppings such as coconut. If you think it’s a little too soon in the season for a popsicle, don’t worry; Popbar has come out with Hot Chocolate on a Stick by simply adding steamed milk to their chocolatey goodness.

Talk about a solution!

2 Of My Favorite Trends

In Accessories, Beauty, Clothing on March 1, 2012 at 12:46 AM

1. J.Crew $298, 2. Nine West $79, 3. Rodrigo Otazu $220, 4. Tasha $38, 5. Republic $40, 6. Forever 21 $5, 7. Marni $170, 8. Walls Fashion $78, 9. ASOS $13, 10. TOMS $54, 11. ASOS $64

1. Butter $14, 2. Essie $8, 3. OPI $9, 4. Deborah Lippmann $18, 5. NARS $18, 6. Dior $23, 7. Chanel

Two of my favorite trends right now are powerful florals and bright nails. Despite the fact that I’m back to wearing some of my warmer attire this week (thank you mr. groundhog), I cannot help but be addicted to spring’s hautest trends and the bright colors that bring a drab rainy day to one that is fun and fab.

If you’re still wearing your fur vest, umbrella, and rain boots, just think spring!

Florals are far from boring this year. They are colorful, charming, glamorous and loud without being tacky. The last time we saw florals become a trend this big was back in the 90’s. This time around, designers have updated the trend with straight leg pants, envelope clutches, fun frocks, cool collars, sexy shoes, belts and more. Once it’s officially spring, a trip to the Botanical Gardens might not be such a bad idea!

Let’s not forget those bright nails. Spring is all about bold neons or delicate yet fierce pastels–sweet pistachio, juicy tangerine, hues of blue, and more.  I love to switch off between neons and pastels. I think that pastels are better for work days and neons are better for weekends and play.

What do you think of these trends?

A Look Into Tibi For Spring

In Clothing on February 26, 2012 at 12:50 AM

It’s been about 6 months since I attended the Tibi Spring 2012 show, and it felt great to revisit the collection at Tibi’s Soho store yesterday morning.  Looks range from soft pastels to graphic prints in bold colors. Coral and chambray suits, tailored track shorts, and silk tops for daytime and haute, effortlessly chic silk wrap dresses (no, not a DVF look-a-like) for nighttime.

Tibi’s spring collection is one of my favorites because it’s all about color: coral, cobalt blue, green, turquoise, marigold, white, and black. It’s feminine, glamorous and chic while still being edgy–I like to buy separates so I can mix and match them with less expensive brands. I’m also loving the shoes, which are displayed perfectly on a wall next to cool coffee table books–snakeskin flats and high-heel sandals, and irresistibly sexy black ankle-wrap stilettos. Talk about trendy.

What do you think of Tibi’s Spring 2012 collection?

On Trend With Spring Statement Pants

In Clothing on February 16, 2012 at 12:00 AM

While those in the fashion industry are off witnessing the new collections for fall 2012 during NYFW, the rest of the world is waiting for spring 2012 clothes to hit stores. A major trend that was seen on the runway for spring is statement pants. They are perfect for when you want to go up a notch from your favorite pair of jeans as they are a bit trendier and dressier. The options are endless: slouchy tribal prints and bold formal patterns to tweeds, bohemian wide legs, preppy crops and more. J.Crew has my favorite selection of statement pants; now I have to figure out which one to invest in! Below are my favorites.

Michael Stars $75

Yochi Design $60

J.Crew $230

Jason Wu $1,595

Karen Walker $180

There’s nothing like a bright color pallet to spice up a dark, rainy day. New Yorkers love to dress in black (with the occasional splash of color) but on days like today, there is barely even a hint. Once the sun comes out, the 5 items above will make you want to be the bold pop of color in the crowd!

My Favorite Looks From ASOS

In Clothing on January 22, 2012 at 2:23 PM

blouse, $54

dress, $64

skirt, $63

ASOS knows how to create outfits that are trendy yet affordable. From simple skirts with a pop of neon, multicolored blouses that aren’t the usual from your local department store and cut-out dresses that actually fit you are some of what I love from this online shopping emporium.

Yesterday marked the first snow fall of the year, and it is still crazy freezing! However, instead of continuing to buy winter pieces, I’ve somewhat moved on to Spring as the new collections work perfectly for my upcoming travels. I have just enough winter galore to last me through the season and will style them in different ways to make it look like I bought a whole new outfit.

One of my newest investments include the first ASOS blouse above. The light color pallet with the bold black piping going through it is the perfect combo. ASOS styled it with black leggings, blue nail polish, and small bangles. I, though, have some of my own ideas on how to wear it and will show you once it arrives on my doorstep.

A Watch What Happens L!VE Pajama Party

In Clothing on January 20, 2012 at 7:47 AM

Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens L!VE is now on 5 nights a week, which means 5 nights of pure entertainment. Yesterday’s episode was particularly special because it was a pajama party! And with very special guests, Ralph Fiennes, Holly Hunter and Amy Sedaris.

I decided to have a little pajama party of my own while watching WWHL to continue the highly adorable theme. I made popcorn and used my Sur Le Table popcorn topping kit. It’s a great deal as it contains an oil spray and three different kinds of seasoning (kettle corn, dill pickle, and cheddar cheese) for just $20. Not only is it a great item to keep at home, but it’s also a nice hostess present. I’ve been feeling under the weather and have been drinking tea non-stop, so I decided to switch it up and make a warm cup of hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows on top to go with my popcorn (although a funny combination).

A pajama party is most fun with a group of friends, especially if you dress up in cute (and of course comfortable) nightwear. The drinking game on WWHL (there is a word of the night and every time it is said throughout the show you take a sip of alcohol) is a favorite for many viewers. So, I came up with two fashionable looks (one for the woman under 21 and one for the woman 21 and older) which incorporates age appropriate drinks and cute munchies to go with them.

Under 21: 1. West Elm $30, 2. Adidas by Stella McCartney $30, 3. Topshop $28, 4. Tory Burch $85, 5. Izze, 6. The Hampton Popcorn Company $20, 21 & Over: 1. T by Alexander Wang $34, 2. Topshop $18, 3. Matthew Williamson $210 4. Topshop $60, 5. Laduree, 6. Burk Decor $20

James Jeans Goes Couture

In Clothing on January 19, 2012 at 7:05 AM

Finding the perfect pair of jeans is a challenge that most women face. Our expectations seem to always be high, looking for a pair that’s as fitting, slenderizing and “magical” as the ones from The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants. I’ve always been most comfortable in jeggings because I never felt completely satisfied with the blue jeans that I own, even those that are well-known brands. However, I have now been introduced to a pair that has become a go-to staple in my closet.

Popular jean brand, James Jeans, has recently launched its Couture Collection for Spring 2012. This collection is the total problem-solver for those seeking a new and well-rounded pair of jeans.

Coming in three of the most classic and popular silhouettes (boot, straight, and skinny), founder Seun Lim gives them a fabulous twist. Some key features of the jeans include vortex waist contouring, patented inner yoke and pocket lining, booster hip padding, and my favorite, suction thigh wrapping. It is truly the miracle fit. I also love how incredibly soft they are.

I own the Couture Skinny 1210 Vesper jean and fashioned it for the first time last week to go to lunch at Freds at Barneys (click here); I have never received more complements on a pair of jeans before. They are simple yet chic for daytime, but they can turn ultra glamorous with the help of some funky shoes, sequin galore, and chunky jewels. I went out for dinner that same night and quickly transformed my look from day to night with a pair of platform pumps, a sequin blouse, and an oversized cocktail ring.

Not only am I a huge fan of James Jeans, but celebs are too like Ashlee Simpson and Olivia Wilde.

Check out the James Jeans website to find the perfect pair of Couture jeans for you.

Believe me, you don’t want to miss out.

Flower Power With Simon Doonan

In Accessories, Clothing, Shoes on January 18, 2012 at 12:13 AM

1. H&M $8, 2. Topshop $60, 3. Oasis $35, 4. Alexander McQueen $275, 5. ASOS $36, 6. Paul & Joe $350 7. Stolen Girlfriends Club $396, 8. BCBG $68, 9. ASOS $81, 10. Opening Ceremony $278, 11. Nicole Miller $325, 12. Dr. Martens $50

Women fashioning men’s clothes has been a major trend, thanks to brands like A.P.C and Rag & Bone. It’s been all about boyfriend blazers, boyfriend jeans, and military-inspired ensembles. But with 2012 unveiling the newest trends, it seems as though there’s going to be a return to a long-gone glamorous femininity with some fabulous flower power.

There won’t be any borrowing from the boys this season, darlings. Instead, we’ll be wearing chic pastels with floral prints that are tropical-inspired, ethnic-inspired, art-inspired, and more. Although our silhouettes might be a bit more girly than usual, we can still fashion our undeniable edge by creating outfits that combine what’s street-chic and our own personal style.

About two weekends ago, I was browsing the home floor of Barneys with my mom. We came across Simon Doonan signing his new book Gay Men Don’t Get Fat at his personal appearance. I was rushing out and didn’t have time to chat, but I did manage to get a shot of him on my iPhone in a fabulous multicolored floral button-down. He aced the trend while still making it “him” with a dark yet colorful tie and jacket. Like I always say, it’s all about looking hard and soft at the same time. Take Simon’s floral look as inspiration for a possible upcoming investment.

Above is my favorite mix of high and low floral galore. Whether you start with a clothing item, a shoe, or accessory, it’s always fun to experiment and add trendy pieces to your closet.

A Little This, A Little That

In Accessories, Clothing, Shoes on January 15, 2012 at 12:01 AM

1. Roberta Chiarella Sensatior $148, 2. Vince $395, 3. Prada $225, 4. Forever 21 $20, 5. Zara $100

The trends keep rolling out. So far, I’m loving each and every one of them. It seems as though I cannot go into a store without trying something on or making a purchase. The collections are better than ever, designers and low-end brands going all-out with trendy pieces that make us feel like we just walked off the catwalk at Fashion Week.

That’s the beauty of mixing high and low pieces; there’s dimension.

One trend that I’m loving right now is a splash of tangerine. Crisp, bright, sassy, sexy, and glamorous, having a few tangerine pieces in your closet is an absolute must. I do not suggest wearing more than one or two tangerine pieces at once, unless you take the colour-block route which is so darling. Above are my favorite tangerine pieces; I love how the less expensive items look just as great as those that are expensive. By the way, the Zara shoes are on sale-I’d definitely make a move. If you’re not feeling a tangerine clothing item or accessory, you can always substitute with a tangerine shade of lipgloss for a pop of color.

1. Gorjana Graham $55, 2. Jagger Edge $109, 3. Jeffrey Campbell $170, 4. Zara $10, 5. Furla $248, 6. Low Luv by Erin Wasson $40, 7. Sam Edelman $275, 8. R&Em $34

On an edgier note, I’m also loving the punk accessory trend; perfect for spicing up a basic outfit. Whether you go for a funky clutch, spiked heels, lacy gloves, or stud embellished anything, you’ll ace the trend in no time. Keeping your clothes sophisticated and elegant combined with these accessories will give you a balanced soft meets hard look.

Even if these trends are outside of your comfort zone, it’s always worth while to go to a store you like with brands you feel comfortable in and try on some pieces in a dressing room.

Fashion is all about experimenting and exploring your options, and there are never too many. Even if you don’t make a purchase, you learn more about your likes and dislikes. The worst case is you walk out of the store with the same amount of money you walked in with and one less shopping back to carry. Not too bad, right?

Finding The “Perfect” Dress

In Clothing on January 10, 2012 at 12:42 AM

stolen girlfriends club $198-garden print tee dress with cuff sleeves

I constantly overhear women saying they need to find the “perfect” dress, be it lunching with girlfriends or talking to their salesperson. But really, what makes a dress perfect? The silhouette, color, style, length, brand, or simply all of the above? I find that it’s actually easier to find a “match made in heaven” when not searching for something specific because you’re less paranoid and most likely are not on a time constraint.

I have now found myself to be one of those girls in need of the “perfect” dress. Finding dresses that I like isn’t hard, but it’s about finding one that feels and looks wow. The dress is for my birthday party in early February, so I want it to be special and rather unique. I’m going to LA the weekend before my party and am hoping to find a dress as two of my favorite stores, Kitson and Les Pommettes, are located there.

Since I have about 3 weeks until my dress hunt officially begins, I’ve taken matters into my own hands early by browsing dresses online. I haven’t found one for my party, but I found two others that I’m purchasing as they are under $200, are bright hues, can be worn for resort or for winter with the help of some trusty tights, booties, and other accessories, and because they are flattering silhouettes. Cross Back Dress $120

Pastel Guide

In Accessories, Beauty, Clothing, Shoes on January 9, 2012 at 8:32 AM

If starting a whole new section in my wardrobe took about the same amount of time as creating a virtual wardrobe on the internet, I’d first rush to pastels. The trend is quickly making its way to the fashioniverse, becoming more and more apparent in editorials, department store windows, and so on. My love for pastels grew when browsing Barneys and Bergdorfs over the weekend.

Pastels are said to be the new neon come Spring (although I’ll never give neons up). Pastels definitely scream “girly” to me; I don’t know if it’s the colors themselves or the fact that many women in Palm Beach over Easter tend to wear anything and everything pastel. Probably a combination of both.

Pastels can be worn beautifully if fashioned the right way. I would not wear more than two pastels in the same outfit, but I would mix them with your edgier pieces to create a soft and hard play on the eyes. Below are my favorite pastels that can easily be mixed and matched with basic pieces that you most likely already own.

J Brand jeans, Acne sweater, Dior eyeshadow, Dior lipgloss, Dior nail polish, Equipment blouse, Bobbi Brown eyeshadow, Topman socks

Dannijo bangles, ASOS earrings, DSW flats, Steve Madden platforms, ASOS belt, ASOS handbag, Amomuito earrings, Modcloth wedges

Halloween, or Christmas?

In Clothing on October 31, 2011 at 7:16 AM

Happy Halloween Style Solutions readers!  Today’s the day where we whip out our costumes, eat endless amounts of candy, and of course look fabulous.  However, it’s been feeling more like Christmas than Halloween due to the tremendous snowstorm that hit the North East on Saturday.

I happened to be traveling to Allentown, PA for the day when the snow first started, and once I arrived, it looked like a winter storm that we only see in February.   The roads were completely full of snow and I was absolutely soaked. It was very strange to have a snowstorm in October, but there was something fun about it–I was in shock as the snow got worse, and worse.

Luckily I dressed somewhat properly for the unexpected surprise, and kept rather warm thanks to two of my favorite winter pieces.  My first favorite is my new Topshop Faux-Fur Belted Coat.  It is thigh length and is the coziest jacket I own.  It’s a classic must-have do its color, over-sized collar, and chic, sophisticated yet edgy look.  Plus, the snaffle lock belt adds a charming finishing touch.  I also love the green lining, which acts as a pop of color if you choose not to lock the belt.  Although it got wet due to the snow, I couldn’t have worn a better jacket –I looked somewhat like a black bear turned polar bear.

My other winter must-have is Saks Fifth Avenue’s Blackberry Gloves.  The clever design, with turn down index fingers and thumbs that allows you to comfortably use touchscreen mobile devices, is perfect for the coldest of days.  They are practical, functional, and were essential to me during this storm.  I own the black pair as they match best with the majority of my wardrobe, but the gloves also come in brown oat, grey teal (love), and plum.

Once I got back to NYC, it was still snowing, and I had no interest in getting dressed up for a night out.  Instead, I enjoyed a warm cup of hot chocolate with ghostmallows (a.k.a Halloween flavored and shaped marshmallows) while watching Project Accessory in my cashmere J.Crew lounge pants, an oversized sweater, and cheetah print socks.  While some might think, “what a boring Saturday night!”, it was just what I needed.

Dress up well today!

3 Sweaters Under $200

In Clothing on October 22, 2011 at 5:43 AM

It’s getting to be that time of year when I realize I can no longer pull off days of not wearing a jacket.  As the temperatures start to be more in the 40s & 50s and less in the 60s & 70s, a warm, stylish, and comfortable sweater sounds very appealing.  Though this is not to say I won’t be wearing my favorite blouses or sequin sleeveless shirts for a night out.  It’s all about a balance.

I decided to take a shopping trip down to Zara this afternoon as I felt like a little shopping pick-me-up after a long week of work.  To be honest, I could’ve been in any store and felt completely satisfied.  I ended up buying a a sweater that was simple yet chic, which I’ll blog about once I wear it.  Sweaters tend to be pricey, as do the majority of fall/winter clothes compared to spring/summer clothes, but with a little time, and the beauty of the internet, 3 fab sweaters under $200 can be found.

Sydney Fashions French Connection

In Clothing, On Sydney on October 12, 2011 at 7:37 AM

Sydney trending a colour-block frock

After a long-weekend, the city is back to its bustling self, native and important New Yorkers spotted just about everywhere.  I’ve had two fun run-in’s this week: Leighton Meester at Barneys, and Kate Hudson with hubby Matt Bellamy at Via Quadronno.  The weather was absolutely exquisite yesterday, (I wish it would stay like this all year round) so it was the perfect time to fashion an adorable fall ensemble as a jacket was certainly not needed.

I fashioned my brand new French ConnectionShelby Stripe Pleat Dress“.  This chiffon dress is one of my favorites of the season as it is super chic and is right on trend with colour-blocking.  Plus, the dress is suitable both for work, and for play.  Everything about the dress just works: from the color combination, round neck, long sleeves with gathered cuff detail to the detachable buckle-belt (though don’t detach it as it gives the dress a flirty look).

I paired this frock with black Wolford tights, my black platform “Sierra” Via Spiga boots, my black and gold hardware Balenciaga bag, and my new “Janis” Velvet Eyewear oversized round sunglasses that I bought at Henri Bendles–I am madly in love with them.  They are the perfect size for the perfect look.

I had yesterday off, though it consisted of lots of work and AM writing (luckily I had my cappuccino from Via Quadronno right by my side).  I love lunching on weekdays, so I headed to Michaels with my mom, one of my favorite restaurants in the city.  It is the hotspot for those in journalism, and the food is just so delicious- I struggle to pick just one item off the menu.  I especially loved the pumpkin bread pudding that I had for dessert, though every single part of the meal (from beginning to end) is absolutely perfect.  Not to mention, my fellow diners are always interesting like Jason Binn, David Patrick Columbia, and Liz Smith.

Back to reality today: a little less glam outfit, even more work, and not as nice weather.  Hunter boots and umbrella, here I come!

Sydney In Rag & Bone At Barneys

In Clothing, On Sydney on October 9, 2011 at 9:57 AM

Sydney in her new Rag & Bone leggings pre-party

It’s been a busy week in the city with lots of work, events, and fashion.  On Thursday evening, I attended The Wall Street Journal party at Barneys (7th floor–mens), who collaborated for a 2 hour cocktail party.  Filled with drinks, a great crowd (consisting of fashion gurus, stylists, buyers, WSJ execs, etc), and up-beat music, the party was definitely happening.

On the same day as the party, I happened to go to Barneys in the afternoon to check out the new renovation. FYI–it’s not done yet, but there are going to be some fabulous new features, especially on the CO-OP floor such as an iPad bar, a chocolate store, and a Fred’s to-go: so excited.

Although it was a little difficult to shop with the new unfinished layout, I still managed to spot the new must-have Rag & Bone bottoms.  Coincidentally, they were just put on the shelves an hour before I arrived, and I went bananas over them.  The bottoms are called Galaxy Leggings, which is a classic mid-rise stretch legging (although they look like jeans) with 5 pocket silhouette.   The funky print originated from the Rag & Bone office cement floors.  Fun fact: the previous owner, conceptual artist Matthew Barney, had used the space as his studio and left his splattered paint to use as inspiration.

It’s interesting because I’ve never been a huge Rag & Bone fan (I only own one other item -my tan loose-knit sweater-) but I really liked the fit of the leggings.  Important tip: Rag & Bone bottoms tend to run large, so you’ll most likely go down a size.  I didn’t believe this until I actually tried them on, and my salesperson was right.

I decided to wear them to the WSJ and Barneys party that evening because I highly doubted that anyone would have them on…and I was right.  Everyone went crazy over them.  I paired the leggings (I still think they’re more like jeans) with a silk beige Topshop blouse with crochet sleeves, deep purple Joan & David platform pumps, my Aqua [faux] fur vest, and a black Chanel bag.

Rag & Bone Feather Leggings

If you don’t like the color pallet or pattern of these leggings, they also come in a green and white feather print (click photo to go to site).  I would say this print is more girly compared to the galaxy print, which is a bit edgier. Both prints are great; it just all comes down to personal preference.

Missoni Mission Accomplished

In Clothing on September 25, 2011 at 12:57 PM

Three boxes of Missoni For Target galore has arrived!  I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to receive a package, especially from Target.  I’ve heard tons of stories from people about how they failed to get their hands on this must-have collection, so I’m extremely happy that my mission was accomplished.  Not to mention the crazy website crash, which occurred just a few hours after the online store “opening”.  We did buy a lot, but everything fits perfectly, and we’re so happy with the way everything looks (even more so since we’re huge fans of color).  In l’ordre?  A sweater, a sweatshirt, a pair of shorts, two dresses, a trench coat, a skirt, a pair of silk pajama pants, and a throw blanket.

I’m excited to fashion these pieces and to snuggle up with my throw!

Set Your Alarms For Missoni

In Accessories, Clothing, Shoes on September 12, 2011 at 8:53 PM

Ever since I was little, I’ve had a major obsession with Missoni.  My grandmother was one of those women who always had to have the latest Pucci or Missoni print, so I’ve been left many that are although years old, look perfectly brand new.  Missoni is one of those brands that I can simply say is so me because everything is truly colorful (and I love color).  If only Missoni was half less expensive, I would be shopping the brand 24/7.

Tomorrow is my chance -the day I’ve been waiting for-, and yours as well.  Missoni lovers, set your alarms extra early for tomorrow morning, and don’t even dare to press snooze, because Missoni For Target will be available.  Now’s your chance to shop the legendary brand at a price that you can afford.

Every time I browse the online lookbook, I want everything more and more: the bike, the clothes, the shoes, the pillows, the dishes, the accessories, the everything: 400 items to be exact.  Everything is going to go quickly, so be sure to buy enough of what you love without hesitation because this is a major fashion moment.

Karl Lagerfeld For Macy’s

In Clothing on September 4, 2011 at 4:35 PM

Karl Lagerfeld has always been the talk of fashion, but he is even more so this week.  We know and love him for his impeccable designs for Chanel (as he is head designer and creative director), but lets face it, not everyone can afford his masterpieces.  Thanks to his new collaboration with Macy’s, us trendsetting fashionistas and admirers of Lagerfeld now have a shot at wearing his designs (unless of course you don’t go shopping in time).

On August 31, Lagerfeld’s exclusive collection for Macy’s Impulse line, which features rotating capsule collections created by famous designers, debuted.  The limited edition collection consists of 45 pieces, ranging in price from $50-$170.

The line definitely has an older yet classic vibe, but Macy’s still promises to have Lagerfeld’s signature style: high-collared pieces as well as edgier and rock’n’roll looks.  Items include graphic tees, crocodile print jackets, refined dresses, and airy tops.

Put it this way.  I’m not running for this collection like I did when Lanvin collaborated with H&M, but there are a few nice pieces to buy so you can brag that you own a Lagerfeld design.

Below are 3 of my favorite looks.  D’accord?

Goodbye Summer Denims

In Clothing, Hamptons on September 2, 2011 at 5:43 PM

It feels like summer started just yesterday: the relief of finally being able to wear sandals instead of boots, your first bikini-wear of the season, and the warm sun (which unfortunately dries out our hair) that marks its presence by allowing us to wear suntan revealing dresses.  The reality is that we’re in September, the first month of fall, and this Labor Day weekend is our last to show off our favorite summery pieces, white jeans and accessories before putting them away to hibernate as fall and winter await (but of course bringing them out for cruise season).

I’m in the Hamptons, and it feels rather drab.  I know it’s not Saturday, the height of the weekend, but Labor Day is supposed to be the second busiest weekend after the 4th of July.  Maybe this was just in town today (as I didn’t make way to Coopers beach), but I have to say hurricane Irene really made its mark on Southampton’s territory.  Trees have fallen to the grown, people are still experiencing power outages, and tree pickup trucks and Con Edison trucks are spotted every which way you look.

And while I’m supposed to enjoy my closet full of summer for just a few more days, all I want to look at is fall, fall, fall!  Maybe because Fashion Week is next week? (gasp!)  Or because it’s 58 degrees out?  For whatever reason it may be, all I wanted to do today was browse some of my favorite stores in town like Intermix and Norahs for fall pieces.  What’s one of my fall must-haves?  A pair of 511 J Brand corduroy skinny jeans.

I’m obsessed with these fall J Brand cords because they are colorful yet warm for the upcoming cooler months.  The cords come in many colors, but I have 3 favorites: black forest, aubergine, and bright royal.  I’m going to purchase the black forest cords because I love a great deep green for fall paired with a simple black v-neck, a leather jacket, leather boots, and a large tote.  Which color are you loving for fall?  Comment!

On The Floor, To On The Runway

In Celebrities, Clothing, In The Pages on August 17, 2011 at 10:15 AM

JLO is one busy woman.  What can People’s most beautiful girl in the world not do?  JLO made her comeback this year as a judge on American Idol, and since then, her career has taken off more than ever.  If there’s one thing I didn’t expect from JLO, it would be to launch a clothing line…but she is, and I’m quite curious about what you think about it.

JLO, and her former hubby Marc Anthony (uh-oh), collaborated with Kohls to create an affordable clothing, accessories, and home line.  O Magazine readers got a sneak peak of the line in The Makeover September Issue, which Oprah graced the cover of in a beautiful gold sequin embellished gown.  JLO and O creative director Adam Glassman styled 8 O readers in her line for a spread.

I think the positive qualities of the line are its simplicity, elegance, and sophisticated vibe.  I don’t see women below their 30s being maybe quite as interested in the line as some older women may, mostly because it’s conservative and the color pallet is basic.  I do like the camel leggings with the zippers on the legs and the little fur jacket, both of which are easy pieces to have in your fall/winter wardrobe.  It’s almost like a go-to collection for your first job interview.  I think JLO’s outfit (the black romper) in the spread is the sexiest; a romper is always great with a pair of boots and a leather jacket for the colder months.

New York Magazine made a comment that I think is right on-target. “It looks like the line borrows a little from Rachel Zoe’s penchant for fur accents and Kate Middleton’s passion for sheath dresses.”  I wonder what Rachel Zoe thinks of the line.

Put it this way.  I’m not going to be running out for this line; it just doesn’t scream fresh and new for me, but props to JLO for taking on a new business venture, and always looking fabulous in everything she wears.

What do you think of JLO’s line?  Did JLO make a hit, or did she simply miss? The line will launch in September.

Sale’ing For Gryphon

In Clothing, Hamptons on August 6, 2011 at 5:02 PM

I can’t believe it’s the first weekend of August; the last month of summer.  I say this every year, but summer really has flown by.  August is always the month when I appreciate summer most because I know September, the month where reality begins, is close; too close for comfort.

I have already noticed the majority of fall taking over stores, bright colors and light pieces little in sight.  The only place where I’ve found some great clothes to end the season with is on the sale racks.  No girl can complain about a great sale, but I would really like to not look at fur coats, heavy boots, and corduroy pants for just a little longer, every time I walk down Madison Avenue, and now even in some stores in the Hamptons.

What to do to get your mind off of fall fashion?  Go buy yourself a great sale item that will look fun and colorful for the end of summer, yet will transition well into the early months of fall.  I did just that today.  It was warm out yet quite overcast in Southampton, so I didn’t really feel like going to the beach.  Instead, I spent my day in town, meeting up with friends for lunch, browsing my usual stores, and going to some appointments.

I found the perfect dress at Tenet.  It’s Gryphon’s tiger dress, perfect for August with a bright fun sandal, and great for fall with some sheer black tights and black booties.  The dress is in bright blue and black with red and tonal rope-like trim; I especially like the two pockets on the sides, giving it a playful touch.  Gryphon, without a doubt, is a brand that pays lots of attention to detail.

The dress was on sale: originally sold for $320, I got it for just $90.  It was rather long (by the knees), so I took it to my tailor right after to get it shortened.  I’ll never forget the wise words that Tinsley Mortimer said during her Style Solutions interview; you must have a great tailor.

This Gryphon frock is so carefree, and I can’t wait to play with some fun accessories to pair with it.

I can’t believe I’m going to LA tomorrow!  I’ve been talking about this trip for over a month now, yet it feels like it was planned just yesterday.  I’m pretty ready in terms of packing.  My shiny black suitcase is packed to its capacity, although I do feel I’m taking just the right amount.  I packed light dresses for the day with fun sandals, chunky accessories, and my favorite shades.  For the evening, I packed cute rompers with bright pumps, fun clutches, and bold earrings.  I even made sure to pack an extra suitcase for my shopping (just in case)!

Most of my day was spent around getting ready to leave tomorrow, though I did go out for dinner this evening with some friends from Israel.  We went to Orsay, a neighborhood brasserie which I haven’t been to in years (for no reason whatsoever).  I ended up having the most delicious meal, and frankly ate much more than I wanted to since I’m going away.  I know if a meal is going to be good or not based on the bread.  The bread was sourdough (perfectly sour-I hate when sourdough isn’t sour), warm with a little melted butter; the perfect sign to a great dinner.  I started off with a watermelon and feta cheese salad (yes, not so original, but the presentation and freshness was just how I like it), and I had poached salmon with a light cucumber salad for my main course.  My healthy meal turned quite unhealthy once the side of crispy french fries arrived, and the floating island that I ate for dessert.

Luckily, I wore an outfit that didn’t show how much I ate! Cuffed skinny blue jeans, a green piped with brown and red Ella Moss sleeveless blouse, a white Topshop blazer, wedges, and a vintage green alligator purse.

As I was walking home, I got an email on my blackberry from StyleMint, the stunning and oh-so-fashionable Olsen twins’ newest venture.  I thought this would be perfect to introduce to my Style Solutions readers.  StyleMint is the twins’ new website which allows you to get styled with exclusive designer t-shirts by Mary-Kate and Ashley.  All you have to do is share your style with a fast and fun StyleProfile, view your selections to choose your top styles, and shop your favorite t-shirts (although that isn’t a requirement!).  The site is free, and all t-shirts are just $29.99 each.

If you’re an Olsen twin fan, a t-shirt lover, or just want to check out the site, do so now, and join this t-shirt revolution!

Rebecca Royalty

Rebecca Minkoff is one of my favorite designers; her subtly edgy and playful designs make her collections chic at all times.  Most know her best for her unique set of casual luxury handbags, but she is also known for her fierce shoes, and feminine clothing.  You might not know, but Minkoff came out with an apparel line before she took a stab at handbags.  I own a Rebecca Minkoff patent leather blue purse, and it is always so bright and fun to wear with a summer outfit that needs some sort of pop.

I’m just as much of a fan of Minkoff’s apparel line as I am of her handbags and shoes, so below are some of my favorite pieces available on today.

Monday Style

In Accessories, Clothing, Holiday on July 11, 2011 at 6:33 PM

Hot 90 degree days like today are the times when I crave the Hamptons the most.  Yesterday was absolutely beautiful on the East End, making leaving harder than ever.  I luckily got to spend some time outdoors, taking a walk on the beach, running some errands around town, and having lunch outside at Sant Ambroeus.

I’ve done a surprising amount of shopping this weekend; it always seems I do the most shopping when it’s not planned.  However, it will all come to good use as I am going to LA and San Francisco next week.  Next weekend will be all about California!

Above is a picture of me from Guest of a Guest at the Love Heals event at Luna Farm in which you can see my outfit more clearly.  I love wearing dresses all day and night during these warm sunny days as they make for an effortlessly chic summer outfit.

Today, I’m wearing my fire engine red J Brand jeans that just came back from the cleaners.  It is my first time fashioning them, and I’m really happy with the way I styled them, and the length that was taken off at the cleaners.  I paired my jeans with a tucked-in black v-neck t-shirt and a black Splendid shrug.  I accessorized with black Aldo half-inch heel shoes, a black Hermes belt, a new necklace that I bought this weekend at Therapy (a long gold chain with a medium-sized crystal hanging off of it), and my Louis Vuitton tote.

Hot City, Hot Fashion

In Accessories, Clothing on July 6, 2011 at 5:19 PM

Hot, sticky, gross, humid yet stylish, are the few words that can describe how the city felt, and looked, today.  I woke up bright and early to meet my mom for breakfast at Sant Ambroeus which was noticeably not crowded.  However, I ran into some familiar faces, one being Gossip Girl star, Kelly Rutherford.  Whenever it’s humid out, I somewhat lose my appetite, so I just had an ice cappuccino and fruit salad.

After breakfast, I went into Intermix to find an outfit for a party this weekend.  I found absolutely nothing, and the merchandise looked absolutely cookie cutter.  This is when I made my way off Madison Avenue, and headed for Lexington Avenue.  I had to drop off my red J Brand jeans that I bought a few weeks ago to get shortened as they were too long.  On my way to the cleaners, I passed Roberta Freymann, a store that I either have great success at, or none at all.

It was a hit today at Roberta Freymann.  The selection of clothes, jewelry, and handbags was just what I was looking for.  Colorful, fresh, vibrant, glamorous, and summery.  Roberta Freymann is great for when you want funky blouses, tunics, or dresses because they come in a number of styles, colors, patterns, and are somewhat oversized; this is always good when you’re still feeling all of those hotdogs and hamburgers you ate on Fourth of July.

Freymann is also known for her fabulous bib necklaces.  These aren’t just plain bib necklaces, but they are embellished with oversized stones that are ultra chic.  What I always run to at Freymann’s store (she actually has two on the same street) are her clutches.  Freymann’s clutches are absolutely stunning, coming in various patterns, fabrics, and leathers, embellished with beautiful stones and sequins.

After browsing the store, I ended up making two purchases.  I bought one of the leather envelope clutches in the style of those on the right (but in a different color combo than what’s shown in the picture) to go with a great dress I bought there as well.

Find out this weekend what clutch I bought, and what dress I bought to pair it with…

Red Hot

In Clothing on June 15, 2011 at 6:14 PM

What am I loving this summer? Brights! And especially red brights.  I’ve always been a religious legging wearer because they are comfortable, and have the ability to be dressed up or dressed down all based on a pair of shoes and a top.  However, in the summertime, I have an urge for color, so my favorite pairs of black Topshop and American Apparel leggings just won’t do the trick.

To suit my needs for comfort and color, I’ve found myself obsessed with J Brand‘s summer collection of  Haute Hues.  There are so many color options, making it difficult to pick just one favorite.  However, at an epic sale at Lexington Avenue’s Bloomingdales yesterday, I found myself most attracted to a pair of bright red jeans: I bought them.

Red is a hot, sexy, cool, fun, bold, and desirable color.  When I walk out of my apartment each day, I like to make somewhat of a statement: red is never underestimated.  There are a variety of  ways of fashioning these red-hots.

Sex and The City star Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted pairing her red jeans with a light purple t-shirt, black flats, and a multicolored tie-dye bag (a very casual approach).  Fashion icon Rachel Bilson was found styling these jeans with a pair of cheetah peep-toe slingback pumps, a navy-blue jacket, and a white and brown shoulder bag.  A model was shown wearing a matching red jacket with a fur vest on top, and grey pumps (a look for going into fall, although a little too “matchy” for my liking).

Here’s how I am planning on wearing these jeans in order to achieve a simple, easy, and chic look.  I’m going to wear a black tank with a black boyfriend blazer on top, black leather peep-toe wedges, black cat eye sunglasses, a black and gold vintage Hermes belt, and a black tote.  This is one case where you don’t want to wear a bright colored boyfriend blazer considering the jeans are bright enough.

Check out the bright red J Brand jeans on for $176.

Refreshingly Mint

Summer is a season full of beach days, work days, barbecues, parties, and fashion.  During the week, I find myself needing to wear an outfit that transitions well from day to night, or has the ability to be worked with (without completely changing the outfit in its entirety).

A piece of clothing that is a “Sydney basic” during every season is a boyfriend blazer.  I love boyfriend blazers because I find them to be effortlessly chic, sophisticated, cool, and flattering.  I can wear them over tight dresses when I’m feeling extra fit after an intense SoulCycle class, or when I’m feeling extra big on a not-so-fit day.  They are also great for when you need an outfit that is sophisticated enough for the office, yet can be edited for a fun night on the town. Kim Kardashian is a boyfriend blazer master.

All in all, boyfriend blazers are great basics to have in your closet, and most of us have ones that are black mainly because they go with everything.  However, sometimes we find ourselves needing a little change during the summer: a lighter, and more colorful change.  Topshop just came out with a cool, light, and refreshing ‘Mint Linen Blazer‘ that is perfect for day and night.

I love this blazer because the material is perfect for those hot summer days, and is in a color that is easy to match with blacks, whites, and neutrals.  During the day, the blazer will look great with white linen shorts, a white tank, white wedges, a silver tote, and white round sunglasses.  For night, go for a darker look with black shorts, a black tank,  black sky-high platform pumps, a metallic silver clutch, long hanging earrings, a chunky cocktail ring, and bold, smokey eyes.

This Topshop blazer is as refreshing as a scoop of mint-chocolate chip ice cream, and is available on for $120.  Check it out.

Prom Girl

In Clothing on June 6, 2011 at 7:48 PM

The city was absolutely bustling today.  The air was cool, the sun was shining, and the Kardashians were here.  As my friend Sunny and I were walking past a popular store in our neighborhood, 25 Park, we noticed lots of paparazzi and little boys whose eyes were glued to the windows.  Sunny asked who was there, and it ended up being Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.

Sunny and I went into the store and looked around for about 15 minutes, browsing the same racks as the gorgeous sisters.  They both looked great, and I especially loved Khloe’s metallic Louboutin pumps.  Eventually, we began speaking to Khloe; she was so sweet!.  This was one fabulous lunch break.

While I’ve been focusing on this Kardashian-run in most of the afternoon, others are focusing on prom.  In NYC, prom is usually between the end of May throughout the beginning of June.  Finding the right dress is no easy task, whether it’s determining what type of look you’re going for, the brand, the price, the fit, etc.  No matter what, finding the dress that fits all of your needs is most important. What type of prom girl are you?

Driving Slow On Sunday Morning

In Clothing, Hamptons on May 29, 2011 at 3:40 PM

Nightlife in the Hamptons is something to look forward to each season.  There are the amazing restaurants, fun clubs, and then those which have a combination of the two.  If you’re in Southampton, like me, you’re mostly found at Nellos, where as if you’re more towards East, you’re mostly found at Georgica (I get around to both, though).

Last night, I went to Nellos for the opening of the restaurant/club of the season.  The atmosphere is always so relaxing and elegant, sitting outside with the all-white tables and chairs, great music, charming flowers, and warm fire.

The air was pretty warm, but with a cool breeze, so I wanted to wear something that suited the temperature.  A couple of weeks ago, I developed a love for the sales rack at Intermix in NYC.  I’m not that into shopping the sale racks at Intermix because it usually means that the clothes don’t fit or look right; however, I found some great pieces, and ended up wearing one last night.

I fashioned a Twelfth Street By Cynthia Vincent Racker Back Romper that is bold, colorful, and fun.  I love this romper because it’s loose and playful, making it a piece that can be dressed up at night, and dressed down during the day.  I wore the romper with a black Splendid cardigan, blue patent-leather pumps, and Badgley Mischka hanging earrings in a variety of shades of blue crystals.  Apparently I made a good choice in makeup: when I was waiting in line for the restroom at Nellos, Dina Lohan and her makeup artist were complimenting my makeup.

I have to get ready soon to go to a few parties, yet all I want to do is stay at home in my Southampton sweatshirt and pop in Somethings Gotta Give on my TV.  As I was driving home today from brunch in Easthampton, Maroon 5’s Sunday Morning came on, a song from Somethings Gotta Give, which reminds me of a great Sunday in the Hamptons.

Fashion Helps Japan

A few months ago, we witnessed two shocking and devastating earthquakes that hit Japan.  Not only have many charities been generous in raising money to help this country, but the fashion industry has been giving back too.  Uniqlo is a Japanese company that is best known for casual wear.  To give back to Japan, Uniqlo has partnered with Conde Nast and with ten amazing designers and celebrities to each design a t-shirt to raise money donated to the Red Cross: Karl Lagerfeld, Blake Lively, Lady Gaga, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Alber Elbaz, Victoria Beckham, Charlize Theron, Cyndi Lauper, and Orlando Bloom.

The shirts will be available on starting June 25 for $25.  Below are my top four favorite shirts.  Which one is your favorite?  Comment!

The Bottom Line

In Clothing on May 12, 2011 at 4:58 PM

For the past week, I have seen an enormous number of women in white bottoms: leggings, trousers, and jeans.  I thought I saw a lot of women in white on the Upper East Side, but once I got downtown, I saw even more.  I’m all about taking risks and being your own trendsetter in fashion, but there are some traditions that need to be kept, and were created for a reason.

A debate in fashion: can you wear white before summer and after Labor Day?  Well, I am a firm believer in not wearing white until summer, and then putting your whites away after Labor Day (with the exception of cruise season).  I’ve spotted women in different variations of white bottoms paired with summery blouses, tank tops, nautical blazers, and more.

As you can see, being that the weather has been beautiful and springy lately, women are getting a rush of excitement to start bringing out their summer pieces.  Hold off  ladies, because it’s not summer quite yet.  Bottom line: it is too soon for white.

Over the past couple of months, I’ve blogged about different bottom options for when you don’t feel like wearing black.  When you want to go casual, get a pair of fun colored jeans like bright yellow or bright blue, and when you want to tone it down but still be casual, go for a nude.  When it’s time for a dressier outfit, go for a camel light trouser.

Noticeably, there are many other options than black between those somewhat awkward, if you will, few weeks between the end of spring and the beginning of summer.  I know it’s tempting to bring out those white jeans, but you only have a few weeks left, so just wait!

What do you think about the old saying?  Vote in the poll below!

Pretty In Pink

In Clothing on May 10, 2011 at 6:53 PM

As NYC continues to warm up, I can’t help but get more and more excited for Memorial Day Weekend.  I’m starting to pack my final pieces of clothing, shoes, and accessories that I want to store out in my Hampton home for the summer.  I’m heading out to Southampton on Saturday for the day to bring my “Hampton necessities”, so I can travel lightly and easily come that Friday afternoon.

Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons tends to be rather chilly, so I like to combine light pieces with heavier pieces.  One piece of clothing that I simply cannot live without in the Hamptons is a white jean short.  White jean shorts go with everything, look fresh and crisp, and can be worn with cute cardigans, long-sleeve blouses, and other warmer tops.

Because white jean-shorts are part of my “summer uniform”, I’m thinking about expanding my horizons, just like I have with jeans.  Colored jeans are what’s in.  Red jeans, green jeans, yellow jeans, purplish jeans, you name it.  I own a pair, actually two pairs, of colorful jeans, and I’m looking to now purchase a colorful short.

J.Brand just came out with a low-rise ‘Cut Off Denim Short in Pretty Pink‘.  Since the short is in a light color, you will find that it will become a summer basic.  Not only can you wear these shorts with simple colors like black, white, and grey, but you can also combine them with other fun colors like blues and purples.

Wear these shorts for a casual day of fun with a white loose t-shirt, nude clogs, a brown woven shoulder bag, brown/gold aviators, and nude and silver bangles. If it’s chilly, throw on a white cardigan.  The J.Brand shorts are available on for $143.

Keep an eye out Style Solutions readers, because there are some fabulous and exciting celebrity and designer interviews coming up.

Spring It The Tribal Way

In Clothing on April 26, 2011 at 6:55 PM

It’s 80 degrees out, a temperature that reminds me how close Summer is.  This morning, I ran the Great Lawn in Central Park two times in my American Apparel bootie shorts, a black v-neck and my neon orange sneakers (I couldn’t have made it without the new songs I just uploaded to my iPod from last night’s Gossip Girl episode).  It felt amazing to be running in such light attire, but that’s not to say the air wasn’t thick.

Today, my house in the Hamptons is officially being opened.  It’s time for the pool to transform from green to blue, the outside furniture to be put outside, and for me to get out there!  I can’t help but think about Summer and what the Summer trends will be since it’s so beautiful out, but it’s technically Spring, and we should all still enjoy it.

A major trend this Spring is tribal.  I’ve seen everything from tribal frocks to tribal accessories, and I’m really liking it.  Some like this trend more than others, but there are always ways to incorporate your own style in making a trend a little more you.

Sandro, a label from Paris, France (please take me there, now) just came out with an adorable multicolored geometric ‘Tek printed linen-jersey T-shirt“.  This shirt is perfect for Spring days like today since it’s linen, a perfect fabric for when you want to be cool and comfortable.  I like this Sandro shirt because it still has a girly feel -despite its tribal vibe- with its chic color pallet: peach, nude, grey, and blue.

Complete this tribal look with light blue (almost grey) skinny jeans, brown leather flat gladiator-esq sandals, a geometrical cocktail ring in gold and blue, a nude fringe suede handbag, and grey aviators.  Paint your nails in a dark nude shade, and apply a pink gloss to your lips.

The Sandro shirt is available on for $160.

Rag & Bone Spring Essentials

In Accessories, Clothing on April 9, 2011 at 6:21 PM

Instead of my alarm clock or someone in my apartment telling me to wake up, this morning I was woken up by the sun coming through my window.  It felt so good to wake up to a bright sky and Spring weather, making me want to get out of bed and start my Saturday immediately.  My Saturday started off with breakfast at Max Brenner’s new Upper East Side cafe, Little Brown Chocolate Bakery and Coffee.  The new eatery is perfect for quick and easy food, and I particularly loved their assortment of beverages and baked goods.

Afterwards, I ran a bunch of errands.  I needed a sports bra from Victoria Secrets, and some new Spring lipsticks from MAC at Bloomingdales.  As I was purchasing my makeup, I spotted Carson Kressley, stylist and member of the fab 5 from TV show Queer Eye For The Straight Guy: I loved the show.

As I was browsing in some different stores uptown and midtown, I came across two different items by Rag & Bone that are must-haves for Spring and come Summer.  One is a piece of clothing while the other is an accessory, and they are not meant to be warn together.  The two Rag & Bone items that are my newest obsession are ‘blush mid-rise cropped skinny jeans‘ and a ‘short brim beach hat‘.

The blush Rag & Bone skinny jeans are a chic and fun alternative to a simple blue jean.  The color is basic yet cool, and will look fresh for Spring.  Take advantage of the warmer months by wearing color.  Dark colors are still needed, but bright colors make every outfit more fun.  The jeans will look great with a white short-sleeve blouse, nude patent leather peep-toe pumps, a rose-gold watch, a rose-gold ring, a nude handbag with rose-gold hardware, gold sunglasses, and a shiny pink lip.

The ‘short brim beach hat’ is an adorable hat for Spring and Summer.  The hat will look great when walking around during the weekend, having a picnic in the park, or when it gets to Summer, hanging out at the beach.  I used to hate hats, but now I find them to be a cute accessory when they have a little twist.  I love this Rag & Bone hat because the blue piece of fabric rapped around it takes the simplicity of the basic straw hat to the next level.  Wear this hat with faded blue skinny jeans, a black short-sleeve blouse, black wedges, a black and beige tote, a turquoise and gold ring and bracelet, and apply blue eyeshadow to your eyes.

The jeans are available on for $155 and the hat is available on for $195.

Dressing To The Maxi

In Clothing on April 4, 2011 at 5:32 PM

Spring break couldn’t have gone by any faster.  It was already time this morning to get back to my usual routine, which was undeniably not so easy.   After sitting through classes about Shakespeare, functions, and how to write where I want to go to college in Spanish, a walk to Madison Avenue’s upscale (if you will) Zitomer Pharmacy for a piece of candy was necessary. Conveniently, the Christian Louboutin store is on the same block as my school, so I was able to admire some gorgeous pumps along the way.  It was supposed to rain in NYC today, but luckily it didn’t, and it was warm and sunny.  I couldn’t help but notice how everyone, including me, was dressed in lighter attire, and looking very Spring.

During this time of year, when the weather gets warmer and warmer, it excites me to think about all of the great clothes we’ll be able to wear that we couldn’t wear in the Winter.  Dresses are my favorite type of clothing to wear because they’re easy, chic, and look great all day.  You can find any dress from one that is girly and glamorous with tons of sequins and jewels to a dress that is simple as a plain cocktail dress.

I have a number of dresses in my closet, and they are all short: not one dress is below my knee.  Until more recently, it was not as chic to wear a long dress unless you were wearing a gown to a wedding, gala, etc.  Now, maxi dresses have hit the fashion industry, and are the dresses to own this season.

If you don’t own a maxi,  I think buying a plain black one would be the best starter point for the following reasons: black is flattering on all body types, black is the easiest color to work with, and black can look chic during the day and the night. T by Alexander Wang just came out with a ‘Stretch-modal maxi dress‘ that is a cool basic to have in your closet for Spring and come Summer.  Wear this maxi with black high-heel lace up boots, a multicolored chain necklace, a long black shoulder handbag, black cateye sunglasses, and paint your nails with metallic silver nail polish.

Alexander Wang is extremely talented, but a rather expensive designer, so to find a dress by him that is under $200 is quite a deal.  The maxi dress is available at for $175, check it out.

Bright, Bold, and Beautiful

In Clothing on March 29, 2011 at 11:09 AM

If there’s one thing that people aren’t afraid of this season, it’s color. It’s all about being bright, bold, and beautiful.  This past Fall and Winter, there was very little color displayed in stores; however, Spring has come, and the stores that once looked drab are looking more fabulous and colorful than ever.

When wearing bright and statement-making colors, you are most certainly coming out of your comfort zone.  If you’re the girl who only sticks to the basics and darker colors but wants to try those electric brights, start by adding just one bright to each outfit.  So many designers and labels have incorporated this bright-colored trend into their Spring collections, whether it’s with purses, shoes, clothing, jewelry, or even beauty products.

I’ve already become obsessed with multiple brights this season, but I want to introduce my first bright-obsession today that I first spotted at Barneys: bright colored J Brand jeans.  Are you the girl whose closet is full of jeans in only white, black, and blue?  How about a bright and bold color to spice up your wardrobe?  It’s time to branch away from your old blue jeans and try a bright jean for the ultimate Spring look.

J Brand just came out with adorable and daring mid-rise skinny leg jeans in a variety of colors that are so chic for Spring.  These electric and sexy jeans come in four hot colors: bright red, bright royal, bright fuchsia,  and bright yellow.  The jeans are definitely not your typical colors, but that’s what I love: they’re unique.  My favorite color of the bunch is bright red because they’re fierce, fun, and funky.

Because the jeans are bold and bright, you don’t want to overdue them with the wrong top and accessories.  Barneys displayed these jeans with bright tops, but I think it’s too much.  No matter what color jean you choose, keep the rest of your outfit on the chic yet simpler side.  Wear these jeans with a black v-neck, a black leather jacket or boyfriend blazer depending on your preference, black platform wedges, a black crossbody and a long chain necklace.  Since the jeans are extremely colorful, make sure not to wear too much makeup so that the outfit doesn’t lose its effortlessly chic look.  A little eyeliner and clear lipgloss with a tad of sparkle will do the trick.

The J Brand jeans are available in all four colors on for $176.

Sydney Shops At Pinkyotto On Newbury Street

In Clothing on March 26, 2011 at 7:20 PM

Although it is another freezing day in Boston, my dad came to the rescue and brought my puffy black “ski” jacket before leaving NYC, which was perfect since most of my day required lots of walking.  My day started off at Finagle Bagel, the best bagel store in Boston which has a variety of delicious flavors like triple chocolate chip and french toast: so good.  I then headed to two college tours, and then had lunch at The Four Seasons hotel.

After lunch, I decided to walk on Newbury Street to browse and shop some stores.  Newbury street is full of the typical stores you’ll find everywhere, like Marc Jacobs, Steve Madden, etc, but also some local boutiques.  Of all the stores I went into, there was one in particular that I liked best: Pinkyotto.

Pinkyotto exclusively carries their namesake brand, and as said on, caters to girly-girl individualists who are unafraid of the latest trends but want versatility from their special pieces.  I like the Pinkyotto line because it’s colorful, fun, glamorous, girly, and affordable.  The store carries great patterned and solid evening and day dresses, jackets and outerwears,  adorable tops, bottoms, and cute accessories like handbags and belts: the dresses are my favorite.

After trying on a few dresses, there was one that I knew was purchase worthy.  The dress I bought is a modern interpretation of the lace and stripe trends for Spring: two trends for the price of one!  This short-sleeved sheer frock is lined for comfort, and the feminine lace pattern is embellished with metallic gold trim that gives a sexy edge to keep the dress from being boring.  I plan on first wearing this dress to an Easter luncheon in Palm Beach.  I’m going to accessorize the dress with gold Valentino high heal sandals, gold hanging earrings, and a gold clutch.

Pinkyotto is great for girls who don’t want to spend lots of money, but still look just as chic and glamorous as the models fashioning the designer clothes on the pages in the high-fashion magazines.  Pinkyotto not only has a store in Boston, but other locations in NYC and Brooklyn.  Check out store locations and the line’s collection on

A Rainy/Snowy Solution: Trench Coat

In Clothing on March 23, 2011 at 11:07 AM

Right as it started to feel like Spring, NYC had to get a two-day combo of rain and snow.  It’s crazy to think how just a few days ago it was 80 degrees and sunny, where now as I look out my window, there are some patches of snow on the grass in Central park.

Even though it’s chilly and rainy/snowy, there’s something about putting on a heavy jacket that isn’t appealing.  A few days ago, I was watching one of my favorite morning talk shows, The View, and designer Tory Burch was the special guest.  The View had a mini fashion show presenting Burch’s favorite looks from her Spring 2011 Collection, one of which was a trench coat.

Burch listed some must-haves for women for Spring, and one of them was a trench coat.  Trench coats are great for days like today because they keep you warm yet aren’t extremely heavy, and are a classic that won’t go out of style.  Burch’s trench coats are adorable; however, they are expensive.  I found a trench coat that is similar to Burch’s style from Topshop that is perfect for a day like today.

Topshop recently came out with a ‘Stone Double Storm Flap Trench‘ that is an updated version of the trench coats that followed World War II.  The coat won’t get dirty due to its dark yet appropriate Spring color, and can be dressed up with a dress and heels, or down with a pair of jeans.  Since the weather is a bit iffy today, why not find a happy medium between dressy and casual?

Wear this Topshop trench coat with a simple black long sleeve dress (I find it’s easier to wear dresses in the rain because if you wear pants, they will get wet), black tights, black rain boots with a little heel (preferably with some sort of embellishment: i.e studs),  a black with gold chain shoulder bag, black, brown, and gold bangles, gold eyeliner, and a clear umbrella with brown trim to tie the look together.

The Topshop Stone Double Storm Flap Trench‘ is available for $180.

Going Green, With An Accent Of Purple, For St. Patrick’s Day

In Clothing on March 17, 2011 at 6:07 PM

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  NYC is one wild and green mess today, but silly and fun at the same time.  I woke up to sounds of drums and other marching-band instruments coming from the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, in addition to lots of screams from the ever-so-green crowd.

Everyone likes St. Patrick’s Day for a different reason: some may like it for the traditional corn beef, cabbage, and Irish soda-bread meal with lots of alcohol, while others may like it for the parade.  I, however, like it for a completely different reason: I like to see the crazy variations of green outfits along the streets. (In photo: crowd of “green-oufiters” watching the parade)

Green wigs, green blazers, green leggings, and green sunglasses are some of the clothing and accessories that I spotted throughout my whereabouts today.  Some of the outfits were funny, while others were just plain hideous.  I’m all for being festive and showing festivity through clothing, but there’s a way to do so in a chic way like Kim and Kourtney Kardashian do in the photo above.

To achieve a festive yet chic St. Patrick’s Day themed look, don’t just stick to green: combine green with another color to balance it out (how about purple?).  Topshop recently came out with an adorable ‘green paisley-print waist blouse‘ that is perfect for St. Patricks Day.

Wear this blouse with black leggings, black suede wedges, a black leather purse with silver or gold hardware, and a purple and green cocktail ring.  For makeup, go all out with purple nails and a smidgen of purple and silver eyeshadow.   Because it’s warm out, all you need over the blouse is a light leather jacket.

The Topshop blouse is available for $80 on  Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day, and indulge on some traditional St. Patrick’s Day food!

Surviving The Intensity of Soul-Cycle Takes A Stylish Number From Track & Field

In Clothing on March 16, 2011 at 3:55 PM

Living in New York City is great for various reasons, but the ability to walk anywhere and everywhere is the best reason of them all. Due to the fact that I walk at least a mile everyday, I somehow think that my long walks from all points of the city make up for not going to the gym.  However, after a stressful and intense period of exams, I wanted to get all my energy out through exercise, and taking a long walk wasn’t going to do the trick: that’s when I tried, and loved, Soul-Cycle.

Soul-Cycle is an indoor cycling 45 minute class that has truly changed my outlook on exercise.  Although the class takes place in a zen/relaxing dark room where the only bit of light comes from soothing candles, don’t let that fool you, because the great instructors and blasting up-beat music makes the ultimate intense workout.  The class is hip, fun, energetic, and lively: everyone walks out, in the end, completely drenched in sweat.

Now that I have survived my first Soul-Cycle class, I am ready to take more classes this and next week.  When going to exercise classes, or even the once in a blue moon visits to my gym downstairs, I like to be comfortable, but still fashionable.  My favorite sportswear brand is from Brazil: Track & Field.  Track & Field has a store located on Madison Avenue in NYC and has everything from tight shorts, comfortable shirts, sneakers, yoga mats, bathing suits to sports bras, plus so much more.  All Track & Field clothing is extremely colorful and high-tech looking, which is why I’m such a fan.  The store has a very cool and sleek look considering all products are packaged in colorful capsules labeled by style number and size on the walls.

My favorite piece of clothing that I have from Track & Field is a long-sleeved thin white top with black sleeves and thin green trim on the neckline.  The top is soft, comfortable, and matches perfectly with black leggings.  I used to think that it was fine to wear any t-shirt when exercising, but there’s something about wearing clothing made for the purpose of working out that is more comforting and motivating.  Prices at Track & Field start around $50: be smart about your purchases, and pick a few select items that you know you’ll constantly wear.

I’m excited to wear my workout clothes to my next class at Soul-Cycle: who knows, maybe in a few weeks I’ll be ready to take a Soul-Survivor class (just kidding).

Sydney Spots Spring Leathers At Barneys

In Clothing, On Location on March 15, 2011 at 3:47 PM

Exams are over, and Spring Break is only a few days away!  I couldn’t be more excited for my coming vacation since I have an intense rush of Spring-fever.  I celebrated the end of my exams over lunch at Freds at Barneys (yes, again) where I sat a table away from Simon Doonan, the Creative Ambassador-at-Large of Barneys New York. (In photo: Sydney Sadick in a Helmut Lang leather jacket)

As I was walking around Barneys after a satisfying lunch, I decided to take a look at leathers which are a very popular trend for Spring: leather jackets, leather pants, leather trims, leather combined with other skins and fabrics, light leathers, dark leathers, you name it.  The selection of leathers on the Co-OP and contemporary floors of Barneys are to-die-for, so I decided to not only browse the jackets, but try some on too.

I first tried on a Helmut Lang camel leather jacket (first photo above) which has a classic yet edgy look with its zipper detailing.  I recommend a light-colored leather jacket for Spring (camel, neutral, or white) since it’s a fresh transformation from black. However, if you’re more comfortable wearing dark jackets, navy-blue looks great too.  I then spotted another camel leather jacket on a mannequin, but this one had suede detailing: so chic.

Next, I tried on a stunning Vena Cava cropped metallic pink and silver light-weight jacket with nude leather trim and military-esq shoulder detail: the perfect combination.  This Vena Cava jacket is very me because it’s colorful, on trend, and can be dressed up with a skirt and pumps, or dressed down with leggings and booties.

Overall, live and love the leather that you buy.  Make sure it’s comfortable, has a little twist, and defines you.  Leathers are a must this season, so get shopping!

Sydney Tries On Loose-Knits At Saks Fifth Avenue

In Clothing, On Location on March 14, 2011 at 5:48 PM

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed a Spring trend that has taken over boutiques and department stores: loose-knit sweaters.  At first, I wasn’t a big fan of the loose-knit sweater look, but then I started spotting loose-knit sweaters by Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, and Vince which pleasantly changed my mind.  (In photo: Sydney in Vince)

After my History exam, I went out for lunch at Saks Fifth Avenue which is great for getting a quick bite and then walking around afterwards.  As I was browsing the contemporary floor, I came across racks and tables full of loose-knit sweaters by different labels that caught my eye.  Loose-knit sweaters are popular because they’re comfortable, light, and simple.  Most of these loose-knit sweaters are in basics colors -grey, black, white, and neutral- which are good for everyday use.

I’m always looking for a twist on a popular trend, and I found one with a loose-knit sweater by Vince.  I don’t own a loose-knit, so I decided to try on a few from the Vince collection.  Vince recently came out with a metallic cropped loose-knit sweater that gives a simple outfit some glamour.  The sweater comes in silver and gold: both colors are great, but it all depends on what looks best on you.  For those of you who don’t like metallics, the sweater also comes in solid grey which is what I’m wearing in the photo above.  Vince also came out with loose-knits in neutral colors and black.

Vince tends to be expensive, so I found a loose-knit sweater on that is right on trend yet is less expensive.  The cropped loose-knit sweater is by Trouve, and will look great over a black tank and black leggings during the Spring, and over a white tank and white jeans during the summer.  The sweater is available for $68 on

Overall, loose-knit sweaters are a must-have for Spring, and they will be a great addition to your wardrobe.

Sydney’s Sunday Afternoon

In Clothing, On Location on March 13, 2011 at 1:21 PM

Since tomorrow is Monday and my exams will continue, I’m trying to take somewhat advantage of this beautiful Sunday in the city.  The rest of my day will be revolved around international revolutions for my upcoming History exam, so to get some extra energy I took a quick walk to restaurant Via Quadronno for a cappuccino to go. (In photo: Sydney Sadick on Madison Avenue)

Even though I only went out for a short period of time, I still wanted to get out of my leggings and sweat shirt and put on something cute.  Half of the clothes in my closet are from misc stores around the world.  Last week, my mom was at Grand Central Station and came across a cute boutique and found me this adorable Quiksilver top.  Quiksilver is a great brand to wear when you want to be casual on a Sunday but still look chic.

The ‘Don’t Look Back Top‘ is in a static frequency print in bright fun colors: blue, green, orange, and then of course the usual black and white.  The top is quarter-length sleeved, and is so lightweight which is why it’s very comfortable.   On the left side of the top is a little pocket which just adds a cute touch.

I paired this ‘Don’t Look Back Top‘ with 7 For All Man Kind skinny blue jeans, black BCBG wedges, a black and gold purse, a black and gold cuff, a crystal ball necklace (my newest accessory obsession), red sunglasses, and my feux-fur black vest.

Unfortunately, now I’m back home in my sweatshirt and leggings again, but Spring break starts on Friday, and all of my favorite outfits await.

What’s your  favorite piece of clothing to wear on a Sunday?

Sydney In A.P.C

In Clothing on March 12, 2011 at 7:17 PM

Today was a gorgeous day in NYC.  All I wanted to do was go outside, get some fresh air, and take a walk.  I wore black leggings, an Ella Moss grey and black top with a long gold necklace hanging down the middle, a black purse with gold studs, a boyfriend blazer, and red and gold oversized sunglasses.  My walk led me to lunch at Freds at Barneys where I had a great meal: the desert was the best part: mint-chocolate gelato with a black and white cookie and a foamy ice-cappacino – the ultimate comfort food.  “Lunchers” included The City’s Olivia Palermo and The Real Housewives of New York City’s Ramona Singer.

Going to Barneys when I have lots of studying to do isn’t the best idea because I’m tempted to stop on all 8 floors on my way down the escalator: I simply can’t resist.  I took my SAT today, so I needed a little break.  Anyways, I was so happy to see that the Barneys racks were full of colorful Spring pieces: cool floral dresses, loose knits, red jeans, comfy tees, plus more.

As I was browsing the Co-OP floor, I found a great top by A.P.C that is perfect for a Spring day like today: ‘Wide Stripe Tee‘.  The A.P.C tee is so comfortable, and spot on with the stripe trend with its wide navy-blue, green, and red stripes.  The tee is in cotton which is a good material for Spring because you won’t be sweating in it.  I also love the button detail on the right shoulder: so cute.

Wear this A.P.C tee with dark blue jeans, black ballet flats, a red oversized purse, red sunglasses, a gold chain necklace with a cute hanging charm, and brighten up your lips with a metallic bronze lipgloss.  The ‘Wide Stripe Tee‘ is available on for $135: check it out.

Friday Night Leisure (sort of)

In Clothing on March 11, 2011 at 7:58 PM

After an intense first day of exams, the last thing I want to do is look at my detailed notes that involve trigonometric functions, the French Revolution, and how to calculate the force of an object.  Unfortunately, my weekend will be dedicated to topics such as those, but I’m ready for the challenge.  To give myself a mental break before I gear into my study mode, a relaxing night on the town shall do the trick.

I’m heading out to one of my favorite restaurants, Philippe, for some delicious dumplings, Beijing chicken, and other Philippe signature dishes.  Since I’m pretty exhausted, I’m not in the mood to get all dressed up in a blouse or cocktail dress: I want to be comfy, relaxed, and chic all at the same time.

A month ago, I made some great purchases at Topshop, one of which was a navy blue and white striped sweater with sparkly gold pipping on the collar and bottom of the sleeves: perfect for tonight.   This is the first time I’ve worn the sweater, and I love it just as much now as I did when I saw it on the racks at Topshop.  To add onto my comfy yet chic look, I’m wearing shiny tight leggings, my BCBG wedges, and my black feux-fur vest.

My nails are painted in a deep purple (almost looks black), and my lips are shimmering in MAC Frou lipstick: my favorite.  For accessories, I’m wearing a crystal ball necklace hanging off of a long gold chain, my gold snake ring, and vintage silver and gold earrings.

What are you wearing tonight?

Opposites Attract

In Clothing on March 7, 2011 at 6:09 PM

Living in NYC has given me the ability to witness many personal styles.  Some fashion colorful florals, while others keep it dark yet dramatic in all black; some wear platform pumps while others stick to Converse; and some wear tons of makeup while others simply wear none.  The list of “opposites”, if you will, can go on and on, but like the old saying, opposites attract.  I might love the head-to-toe-glamorous look; sparkly dress, high stilettos, a bold red lip, etc; but I also love feeling comfortable in leggings with a sweatshirt and my neon orange sneakers that are perfect for a day of casual walking around.  It’s all about combining your dressy pieces with your casual pieces to make that perfect outfit.

Sequins are not only perfect for a fun night on the town, but they are also great for during the day.  I love sequins because you can wear them for dressy occasions, but you can also dress them down by wearing solid casual pieces.  I have lots of sequin blouses in my closet, and I dress them down during the day with a pair of jeans, or when it’s warm out a pair of shorts.  At night, I dress them up with a skirt and pumps.  Now that Spring is on its way, I’m ready to invest in a pair of sequin shorts. Doesn’t Olivia Palermo look great in her pair of sequined shorts?  I think so.

J.Crew recently came out with ‘Zoe paillette-embellished merino wool shorts‘ that will be a perfect sparkly addition to your wardrobe.  The shorts are in matte-navy, a color that is not only classic, but is extremely slimming: navy is the next best option to black.  Of course you can wear the shorts out at night, but why not for during the day?  For a casual yet glamorous look, pair these shorts with a cool t-shirt in the black and grey family, Converse black high-tops, a black leather hobo handbag, black aviators, a navy-blue and silver cocktail ring, and a metallic silver eye: if it’s chilly, put on a black leather jacket.

The merino shorts are adorable, and I love how they can be dressed up and down with the slightest accessory change: all you need to do is change your shoes and purse.  What do you think?  Check out these sequin-embellished shorts on for $150.

Store Windows On Madison Avenue

In Clothing, On Location on March 4, 2011 at 9:55 PM

After a wonderful dinner at Italian hot-spot Serefina, a walk home was much needed.  When walking many blocks in the cold, having a focal point makes time go by faster.  My focal point is store windows on Madison Avenue, and now that the windows are displayed with Spring and Summer pieces, the time and blocks went by quickly.  The Upper East Side is full of stores that are the best in the fashion industry: Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Michael Kors, plus so many more.  Madison Ave stores never fail to disappoint with their window displays, and as walking home from dinner, a certain few caught my eye.

The first store window that I came across was Joseph.  Joseph is a brand from the UK, and I used to sit in the store for hours as a little girl, watching my mom and aunt trying on pants, which was what the store was once known for: some might consider that boring, but I always loved a good day of “dress-up”.  Joseph’s windows were in the green family.  First, a green dress belted with a thin high-waist belt.  Second, beige shorts, a brown silk top, and a green and brown army-printed jacket.  Lastly, a green button-down with black trousers: a classic everyday look.

The next store that I came across was Jill Sander.  Color, color, and more color!  The first mannequin is dressed in a pink button down (noticing the button-down trend?), red pants, and a purple trench coat.  The second mannequin is a men’s look: a floral blouse and blue pants (a bit out there).  The third mannequin is very similar to the first, with the exception of a different style coat-more of a blazer.

A few blocks later came Missoni, the brand whose patterns and colors fulfill my ideal wardrobe.  The windows were clearly aimed for the Summer-wanting customer, mannequins styled in a pink bikini with an oversized sun hat, a jungle-esq dress, and a skirt with a matching top.

Lastly came Intermix, one of my favorite stores to find great pieces for every season.  Intermix has two windows, but one was better then the other.  I noticed an on-going trend of black and white solids and patterned clothing with pops of color in accessories.  My favorite look is the third mannequin: a black off the shoulder top, a blue skirt, a cheetah scarf, and black gladiators: an easy look for a warm day.

What’s your favorite store on Madison Avenue?  Have you noticed any trends for Spring 2011?  I want to know.

Aztec Jersey Dress

In Clothing on February 25, 2011 at 5:13 PM

It’s a yucky Friday in NYC: it’s been raining all day, and it’s also a bit humid outside which never makes a good hair day.  Today (luckily) I got to be comfy and casual instead of being in my uniform.  I wore black leggings, a grey v-neck, a black sweatshirt, a leather jacket, and grey and orange Nike Air Max sneakers: my friend Sunny called this the “sporty yet chic” look.

Although I’m not in the mood to get dressed up right now, I am in the mood to browse online-stores for dressy pieces.  While looking at the Wink NYC website, I came across a Torn by Ronny Kobo dress that is great for Spring.  Torn is a brand that I find myself wearing when I need an easy dress or a colorful tunic.   Torn can be found anywhere from a department store to Intermix.

Torn by Ronny Kobo just came out with a “Zoe Blanket” jersey dress that is an adorable frock to add onto your Spring wardrobe.  The dress will be an all-day look with its Aztec pattern in navy-blue, white, and red. I think that dresses are the easiest type of clothing because they work for all occasions, they’re easy to pack for a weekend getaway, and if you wear a long-sleeve dress on a warm Spring day, a jacket is most likely not required.  Do you like dresses just as much as I do?

For a Spring day, pair this dress with a navy-blue and silver chain handbag, red peep-toe pumps, a red cuff, red earrings, and a quirky vintage ring.  Red or classic light-pink nails (Essie’s ballet slipper) will also look great, and if it’s chilly out put on some sheer tights.

The dress is available on for $165.  I will be taking a relaxed approach for the rest of the afternoon, reading People and US Magazine, getting my work organized, and watching the premiere of The Real Housewives of Miami that I Tvoed.  I heard the show got mixed reviews, but I love Miami and want to judge it myself.  Enjoy your Friday night!

Super Bowl Sunday

In Clothing on February 6, 2011 at 11:29 AM

The day that all football fans have been waiting for is here: Super Bowl Sunday.  We’ve watched months of games to see which two teams would play in the Super Bowl, and I am excited to say that one team that I have been rooting for all along, The Steelers, will be playing against the Green Bay Packers.  Lots of my family and friends will be cheering on their team of choice at the Cow Boys Stadium in Arlington, Texas while others, like me, will be watching from NYC.

Everyone watches and celebrates the Super Bowl in a different way.  Some watch the game live, others go to a bar and get sloppy drunk, some attend ravishing parties, and others do something at home.  My family usually has Super Bowl parties, but this year they are out of town, so I’ll be watching here at home.  One of my favorite parts of Super Bowl Sunday is the food.  I’m not a big hamburger and fries type of a girl, but today is an exception.  There’s something about a good old hamburger from popular J.G. Mellon’s or EJ’s in NYC with a milkshake for watching the game.

My other favorite parts about Super Bowl Sunday are the commercials -I actually hate commericals but the ones during the Super Bowl are actually quite funny- and of course halftime.  This year, the Black Eyed Peas will be performing during halftime, and I am so excited.  No more Janet Jackson and her wardrobe malfunction, no more oldies like The Who, but the B.E.P: a cool, fun, and lively hip-hop group.

No matter where you watch the game, you want to be fashionable, somewhat casual, but still have some hints of glamour.  Most like to wear shirts supporting their team of choice, and I think that’s fine for the Superbowl, just make it fashionable with other pieces and accessories.  If you are a Steelers fan, here’s what I suggest.  The Steeler colors are red, black, white, blue, and yellow.  Don’t wear all of these colors -you’ll look like a walking rainbow- but choose a few.  I suggest black and yellow.  Wear this Pittsburgh Steelers yellow and black Junk Food t-shirt with black leggings, black lace-up leather boots, a yellow wristlet or clutch, a black cocktail ring, black/yellow combo sunglasses, and a leather jacket.

If you’re a Packers fan, it’s all about wearing green.  Wear a Packers v-neck t-shirt, blue skinny jeans, dusty brown lace up boots, a blue, brown, white, and green combo tote, brown sunglasses, rusty-gold studs, a green and gold cocktail ring, and a leather jacket.  Although yellow is one of the team colors, you don’t want to overdue the green-yellow combo: the shirt combination is enough.

Catch the game on Fox at 6:30pm to see who will win the 2011 Super Bowl.  (Go Steelers!)

Mondo for Piperlime

In Clothing on February 5, 2011 at 2:41 PM

On last season’s Project Runway, viewers were shocked to see the fabulous runner-up, Mondo, lose the competition.  We all had our favorites, but Mondo seemed to be the shining star of the group, with his continuous and innovative color pallet, patterns, styles, and more.  Although Gretchen was the winner, it’s Mondo who has been most recognized.  His runway show was unforgettable.  Here’s a refresher: bright colors, plaids, tights, thin belts, high ponytails, etc- overall a retro masterpiece.

What was just as noticeable as Mondo’s designs was his personality.  Mondo started off the show being a bit reserved, but towards the end he shared a story that touched viewers: being HIV positive.  To help raise money for AIDS research, which is so dear to him, Mondo collaborated with in November to design two limited-edition t-shirts to coincide with World AIDS Day.  His shirts became so popular on that the site partnered with Mondo yet again to create another exclusive limited edition tee.

The women’s tee that Mondo designed for is called “Mi Corazon“.  On, Mondo said “I created ‘Mi Corazon’ to represent the growth that comes from within one’s self. Love can flourish, exceeding our expectations in beautiful ways. I dedicate this design to my Grandmother Betty, who always saw the beauty and love in everyone”.

The top is not only great because $20 of the $50 you pay for this tee will be donated to Amfar Aids Research, but because it is also really cool looking.  Mondo took this simple white scoop neck tee and added a colorful twist with the heart/flower looking design in stunning metallic colors and pink foil detail: green, purple, blue, yellow, etc.

Wear this top with a great pair of light blue jeans, black suede pumps, a blue hobo bag, blue/black sunglasses, a blue and silver cuff, and a black leather jacket to have a fun weekend-casual look.  The shirt is also available for men.  Check out this great tee for both men and woman for $50 on

Late Night

In Clothing on February 4, 2011 at 11:39 PM

As I was browsing through my long list of emails, I received one from Topshop that got me really excited.  When I look at Spring and Summer collections, I like to see fresh colorful, and chic looks: trousers, blouses, dresses, florals, you name it.  Topshop just came out with its Spring/Summer collection called New Age Constellation which is the perfect collection to shop for the coming seasons.

The collection is inspired by the ’90s, and Topshop definitely took a great approach.  Here is some of what you’ll find in the New Age Constellation collection: tailored shirt dresses, crinkled leather jackets, boy-cut trousers, and knotted jersey vests.   Bellow are my favorite pieces from the collection.

These Luminate Mint Ankle Strap High Heeled Sandals are the perfect twist to a simple outfit.  Take your LBD or chic legging with boyfriend-blazer look to the next level by walking on new minty heights.  The shoes have a futuristic and retro look, and will be a day and night “wild basic” for Spring and Summer.  The shoes are available for $145.

This Cherry Floaty Cape Blouse is perfect for those days when you want a look that will last you through both day and night.  The blouse will look great with black leggings, black platform pumps, and a boyfriend blazer.  Keep the blazer on during the day for a more sophisticated look, and go sexy at night by taking it off.  Check it out for $70.

Work a Spring/Summer look with a fabulous pair of dressy yet simple shorts like these Premium Navy Shorts.  They will look great with something as as simple as a white tank tucked in with a white flow-like sweater on top, or a fun blouse in a bright color.  Don’t be afraid to wear them now, because you can wear tights underneath.  The shorts are available for $90.

As you can see, the New Age Constellation collection has great pieces for Spring and Summer.  There are many more than what I blogged about, plus jewelry, jackets and more.  Check out the complete collection on

All Denim Long

In Clothing on February 1, 2011 at 12:49 PM

Denim shorts are great to keep in your closet throughout all seasons.  A few years ago, it might have seemed silly to wear shorts in the colder months, but now it has become a trend.  This is not to say that you should go out bare-legged in freezing cold temperatures, but this is to say that you should wear tights underneath.

We love denim shorts for the ability to pair them up with anything from a tank top to a dressy blouse, and just how overall easy they are to put on.  Some take the casual approach while fashioning denim shorts, but I like to take a dressier one, especially in the months where wearing tights underneath them is most certainly necessary.  Dress up your denim-short looks by not only wearing a fancier top, shoe, etc, but wearing a dressier denim short itself.

Paul & Joe Sister recently came out with a great pair of Roman Blue Denim Bow Shorts that are dressy enough to wear comfortably from day to night.  The shorts are extremely on trend for Spring and Summer, and have a girly and fashionable look.

A “standard” outfit for these shorts during all seasons is the following: black tights, a black tight short-sleeve shirt tucked in to fully show the bow, black leather flats for day and black leather pumps for night, clear-looking sunglasses, gray and clear stone earrings, a silver and clear-stone ring, a leather jacket, and a black shoulder bag with silver hardware.  Apply blue and silver eyeshadow to bring out the colors of your shorts and accessories.

The shorts are a bit pricey, $193, but they will become a year-round basic and will look great for many occasions.  The  adorable Paul & Joe Sister shorts are available on

The Snow Is Back

In Clothing, Shoes on January 27, 2011 at 9:33 AM

Another snow day!  I really didn’t expect to have one today.  When I got the phone call bright and early this morning that schools would be closed, I was nothing but shocked, and half asleep.  However, I’m not complaining.  I have some work to do this morning, but I will definitely be out this afternoon having lunch at Freds at Barneys, running some errands, and might squeeze in a pedicure later on.  This snow day really gives me a chance to do things that I rarely have time to do during the week.

If you’re someone like me who just can’t stand spending an entire day at home, bundling up with a warm jacket and wearing the right snow boots is crucial for being out and about on this snow day.  I love a gray and black outfit for a day like this, and of course a pop of color by adding a silver metallic accessory.  Here’s my ideal outfit:

Jacket: Keep warm in a heavy grey wool duffle coat like the one from a European website called Debenhams.  The jacket is simple and chic with its black toggle fastening, and has a classic look that will not only work with casual outfits, but dressier ones too.  Wear this jacket for a day like today with black leggings and a long-sleeved black shirt or sweater. This jacket is definitely an ideal Winter coverup, and is available for $135 on

Boots: My first recommendation for this weather would be to wear your Hunter Boots, but it’s not fun to wear them every time it snows.  Your next best option  is to wear Moon Boots, and I found a pair in metallic silver that is adorable.  As said on, the high quality foam insulation keeps you warm, while adjustable laces give you an extra-tight fit.  The boots are cool-looking and will definitely get you through those snowy streets, and are available on for $150.

Finish up this outfit by accessorizing with a gray/black crystal combo earring, a black shoulder bag with silver hardware, a black cocktail ring, fingerless gloves for warmth and texting ability, black sunglasses, and a gray hat.  Enjoy the snow for those of you who have it!

Let The Games Begin

In Clothing on January 23, 2011 at 9:43 AM

The day has finally come: The Jets vs The Steelers football game.  I’ve had a hard time deciding who I’m going to root for because my family is from Pittsburgh yet I’m from, and live, in NYC.  I finally decided that I am going to root for The Jets while my family roots for the Steelers.  The majority of my family and friends are going to be freezing in 7 degree (which is supposed to feel like -1 degrees) weather at the football stadium in Pittsburgh to watch the game live while I’ll be watching from home. People will be rooting for the Jets in NYC anywhere from home, a bar, to a glamorous party – have you heard about movie producer Harvey Weinstein’s party in Page Six?  NYC is definitely one of a kind.

No matter where you root for the Steelers or The Jets, it’s freezing out, so you should dress warmly and in spirit.  People get really into dressing for these games, and quite frankly I’ve seen people wear insane outfits: Joan Rivers from the Fashion Police would most definitely “arrest” them.  I’ve seen t-shirt’s of the teams embellished or cut up, faces painted in the color of the team, hats, plus more.  If you want to take a fashionable approach, here’s what I suggest you wear.

For a fun, warm, and root-by-color- outfit, a casual yet chic sweater is a great option.  Going to a football game, or a casual party, doesn’t require high-heels, tons of jewelry, and glitzy attire.  It’s about simplicity and an effortlessly chic look.  Rag & Bone recently came out with a simple yet chic pullover sweater that is perfect for today’s festivities.  The sweater is stripped (stripes are a big trend) with a combination of navy-blue and green.  I like the sweater because it’s a little baggy which is needed when you’re going to be watching a game for a long time, and probably munching on food.  Pair the sweater up with blue skinny jeans, black rider-looking boots with silver hardware, and accessorize with a black tote with silver hardware, Ray Ban tortoise sunglasses, and a green earring embellished with just a few sequins for a drop of glamour.

The Rag & Bone sweater is available on for $210.  So put on an easy yet chic outfit for todays event, and keep warm with some hand-warmers and a big cup of hot chocolate.  I can already tell that today is going to be a crazy day: let the best team win.

“Here comes the bride, all dressed by”Rent The Runway!  That’s right, Rent The Runway is now available for the bride, the bridesmaid, and the guest.  A woman’s wedding day is one of the most special and important days of her life, yet it can be completely stressful and expensive (I know this from the movie 27 Dresses, one of my all time favorite chick flicks).  Vera Wang, Marchesa, and Lela Rose are some of the many and beautiful yet expensive wedding labels that women lust over for their wedding.  So, we have the bride who wants the perfect dress but doesn’t want to spend a ton of money, the bridesmaid who doesn’t want to be the ugly duckling, and the guest who is completely clueless as to what’s appropriate or not appropriate to wear.  Worry no more, because Rent The Runway is here to help.

Today is the launch of Rent The Runway’s wedding section of their website, where brides, bridesmaids, and guests will be able to wear dresses from collections like Nicole Miller, Robert Rodriguez, and Badgley Mischka for an affordable price, in addition to jewelry and accessories.  Brides who usually spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on designer wedding dresses will now be able to feel glamorous and stress-free on their wedding day by renting a dress for as little $100: an amazing price.  The wedding section of the site is divided by your “title” in the wedding: bride, bridesmaid, or guest.

The bride will not only be able to rent her wedding dress, but outfits pre-wedding and after the wedding as well: engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, jewelry for the big day, bachelorette party, and even the honeymoon.  The bridesmaid can shop a selection of over 100 different dresses in different colors, styles (some matching, others not), and lengths: the Badgley Mischka collection looks great.  Lastly, the guest can shop a selection of dresses for a daytime wedding, a destination wedding, a winter wedding, and a black tie wedding.  Designers range from M Missoni, Vera Wang, to Halston Heritage, plus many more.

What I love about this Rent The Runway addition is how easy it is to shop and the wide variety of options there are to chose from.  No matter what your title is at the wedding you’re in, or being an attendee, every girl wants to look special and glamorous at a wedding, and there’s nothing better than getting ready stress-free.

One of the most common questions that I hear on a Saturday night is “what am I going to wear?” Fear no more, because sequins have come to the rescue.  When I don’t know what to wear when going out, sequins are my best bet because they can either be dressed up or down depending on what my plans are.  Sequins make every outfit fun, and I love to dress up on a Saturday night.  Alice and Olivia’s “Sequin-embellished silk-blend top” is a perfect option for one of those nights when you just don’t know what to wear.

The Alice and Olivia “sequin-embellished silk-blend top” is cool-girl chic with its fabulous sparkly sequins.  You might feel uncomfortable being the “brightest star” in the room, but don’t worry because there is always a way to turn an outfit down while still making it super chic.  The top is silk with gold and black stripes –love the color combo- with sequin embellishment throughout.  Not only will you be able to fashion this adorable top in the cold, but you can also take it with you on your weekend getaways and use it for warm sun evening fun.

For an evening in a cold climate, make this shirt city street-chic with black leggings, a black boyfriend blazer, black patent-leather platform pumps, and a black patent-leather clutch.  Keep the jewelry simple with stud earrings and a cocktail ring.  For an evening in a warm climate, still wear black leggings, a black patent-leather clutch, and stud earrings and a black/gold cocktail ring, but instead of the platform pumps, wear black high-heel sandals.

The shirt was originally sold for $400, but it is now on sale for $160 on  If you are facing the “I don’t know what to wear” question tonight, and don’t have time to run out and purchase something, find one of your dressier tops in your closet and make it cool with leggings, the right shoes, and accessories.  There’s always a way to use what you have and still make a great outfit.  Not only do you have to shop the stores, but sometimes you have to shop your own closet too.

Who Wore It Best?

In Celebrities, Clothing on January 12, 2011 at 4:03 PM

The consequence of being a celebrity who wears the same outfit as another celebrity is being judged as to who wore it best.  It’s rare for two celebs to wear the same outfit if it’s by a high-end designer like Chanel or Christian Dior.  However, when celebs like Stephanie Pratt constantly wear brands like French Connection -which is less expensive and more commercial- it is more likely for them to be in US Magazine’s “who wore it best” section.

When I look at the “who wore it best” pages in magazines -which is one of my favorite sections-, sometimes one celeb looks amazing while the other doesn’t, neither look good or both look great.  As you can see above, author, designer, and reality star Nicole Richie and Greys Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo, dresses are styled quite similarly.  First of all, I love this Winter Kate -Nicole Richie’s clothing line- dress.  The dress is slenderizing, glamorous, fun, sophisticated, and unnoticeably sexy.  Why unnoticeably?  Because you can’t see it: the dress features a low draped back.  It’s the perfect combination of sophistication and sexy, and is great for a party for those of us who aren’t on the red carpet yet.

I think that the metallic mini is flattering on both Nicole and Ellen, but I think Nicole pulled the dress off the best.  It was smart for Nicole and Ellen to pair the mini with black tights since it’s Winter, but Nicole made the better shoe decision.  Although both wearing black, Nicole and Ellen are wearing different types of shoes: Nicole is fashioning patent leather pumps while Ellen seems to be fashioning a pair of suede tie-up booties.  Since they’re both on the red carpet and are wearing a dressier frock, pumps are more appropriate.

Lastly, I’m not a big fan of the way Ellen’s hair is styled.  Both of the celebs have bangs, but the way Ellen styled hers doesn’t look as good. If you’re going to put your hair up in a bun, I think it should have either a fully pulled back look, or a fully laid back/messier look.  Ellen seems to have a combination of both in her hair style, but I just don’t think it works, especially with this dress.  Ellen should have put all of her hair up, or kept all of her hair down: down would have been sexier.

Belle Velour

In Clothing on January 9, 2011 at 11:32 AM

I’ve noticed a change in temperature this month, and let me tell you a drastic one.  I’m one of those girls that would rather wear an adorable outfit and be freezing in it than not wear it at all.  However, it comes to a point each Winter when I start to realize how unpractical it is, and that time has come now.

Dresses are one of my favorite pieces to have in my closet because I can dress them up or down with accessories, and not have to fully change. Winter dresses can sometimes be uncomfortable because the fabric is usually heavy and thick.  When I purchase a Winter dress, I like to buy one with soft yet warm fabric in a darker color with a cool look.  A perfect fabric to have a dress in your closet is velvet, or velour (resembles velvet), because it is heavy yet won’t suffocate you like a Herve Leger.  Juicy Couture has recently come out with a dress that is perfect for this season.

Juicy Couture’s “draped velour mini dress” is a great piece to have in your closet for 2011.  The color is pretty and flattering -a thunderstorm-looking navy blue- and has great structure with its opulent finish.  It’s important to have dresses that allow you to wear them from day to night because you don’t want to 1. have to change again and 2. have to purchase more dresses than you need.  For day, put on a pair of black tights, flat black ankle booties with silver hardware, a black leather cross-body, a silver cocktail ring, silver studs, a smokey eye, and a fur or feux-fur vest.  For night, do a miner accessory change by bringing in some gold tones.  Take off the tights, but on gold heels -a platform peep toe so it’s a compromise between a pump and a sandal-, a gold clutch, gold studs, a gold cocktail ring, red lipstick, and a black or navy blue jacket.

There are so many ways you can accessorize this dress, and I only listed a few.  Be experimental: try new makeup techniques, walk on new heights with great platforms, and try new overall looks that you might not have tried in 2010.  Fashion is a dress-up a game, one that is always fun to play, and there is not just one way to play it right.

The dress is $200 and is available on  Check it out.

Techno Peacock Skirt

In Clothing, Resort on January 3, 2011 at 10:18 AM

I’m going back to NYC this afternoon: here comes cold weather, lots of work, and wearing my Hunter Boots instead of my Jack Rogers sandals.  Every vacation eventually comes to an end, but I’m not ready to go just yet.  However, NYC is my favorite place in the world, -and home- so it’s always nice to be there.  I want to wrap up this week of resort posts with a skirt that will look great for your final day of vacation and will still work when you get back home.

Manning Cartell just came out with a fabulous “Techno Peacock Mini Skirt” that screams color, fun, and glamour.  Adding a touch of color and pattern can make the world of a difference to not just your outfit, but to your closet, and will brighten you up significantly.  I love skirts that have the ability to work for both day and night, and this skirt most certainly does.  I love skirts even more that work when I’m out and about in NYC and when I hop on a plane to Palm Beach for a weekend.

Resort: For daytime in your place of sunshine, pair this skirt with a cami in white or another color on the skirt.  Put on a white sweater in case it’s chilly, a flat sandal, and a simple shoulder handbag.  Don’t go too crazy with jewelry: a simple cocktail ring and stud earring will do the trick.  For evening, leave the top portion of your body alone, and just change your shoes and purse with a clutch and a strappy black sandal.

Winter-Home: For daytime in your winter-home, put on a black cami with a black sweater over it, black tights, short booties with a little heal, a black hobo bag, and a leather jacket.  You should add more jewelry to this outfit since you’re toning down the skirt with lots of black.  Put on a statement necklace  -clear crystals-, stud earrings, and a cocktail ring.  For evening, I would leave your lower body alone, and do a miner top change by putting on a tight off the shoulder cami tucked into the skirt for a more sexy look.

The best part about this skirt?  It is on sale.  Originally sold for $299, the skirt is now available for $159.  There are no returns or exchanges for this item, so make sure you love it before you purchase it.  The skirt is available on  Live up your last day of vacation in your most fabulous outfit, and get ready to go back to reality.

New Years Eve Glamour

In Clothing, Resort on December 31, 2010 at 5:34 PM

I can’t believe it is already New Years Eve.  2010 was an overall good year, and there are great memories and achievements that I’ll never forget: attending Harvard this summer, creating Style Solutions, going on fun vacations with my family, seeing Jake Gyllenhaal (love him), and many more.  New Years Eve is the night to bring out your most glamorous and chic outfit, so don’t hold back.

Everyone celebrates New Years a different way – whether seeing Jamie Foxx at the Fountainebleu, waiting out in Times Square to watch the ball drop, or even just having a small party at home and watching Andy Cohen’s “Wig Drop” on Watch What Happens Live. My New Years Eve plans consist of going to the famous Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach for a big family dinner and dancing-the wig drop will be tvoed at home. Wherever you celebrate the new year, you can still look fashionable.

Most like to wear darker colors for New Years Eve, and I don’t have anything against that because darker colors do work for evening attire.  I personally think that I look better in lighter colors, so I’ll show you my New Years Eve look tomorrow.  There are three dresses that I’ve found in my “internet shopping” that I think are pretty options for this evening:

Get out your New Years hats, your party dress, and your dancing shoes, and celebrate the new year in a fun and fashionable way.

Wood Embellished Tee

In Clothing, Holiday on December 23, 2010 at 8:11 AM

Christmas is just two days away, so you only have two days left to finish your Christmas shopping.  It’s crazy to think that Christmas is right around the corner: I’ll miss the store decorations, Christmas music, traditional baked goods that my mom only makes at this time of year, and of course getting dressed up (although I’ll still dress up when the holidays end).

You still have enough time to get your gift recipient a special present.  A piece of clothing that is easy and simple to get is a tee shirt because the sizes are general, it’s easy to pack when going on vacation, and who wouldn’t want something comfortable and fashionable?  In the near future, girls will stop Winter shopping and start Spring shopping because new collections are either out or coming out.  If you’re going to buy a tee shirt for this holiday season, I would most definitely purchase a cruise tee.

Calypso St Barth -a brand that defines cruise wear- just came out with an adorable “Tie Dye Tee” (I seem to have a mini obsession with tie dye lately) that is easy fitting and is embellished with wood bead trim.  The tee has a very boho-chic look, but there is always a way to make a tee glamorous.  I see the tee with either blue or white jeans, tan sandals, wooden bangles, and a straw bag for the beach.  Give your face a natural yet glamorous look by wearing a little eyeshadow of the same tone of the tee and a glossy nude lip.

Once you get home from your travels, you can warmer this tee up with a chunky sweater in either the color of the wooden beads or navy blue, put on a pair of blue jeans or leggings, some knee-high boots, a hobo bag, and you’re set.  The tee is $75 on  Check it out.

Fun and Short With Michael Kors

Dressing up for an evening of fun can be one of the most stressful times to get ready.  You want to look your best, so wearing a fabulous outfit is what’s mostly on your mind.  When I get dressed for any occasion, I want to be stress-free.  To achieve this, I only buy pieces that I know I’ll wear more than once and will be able to mix and match with other items in my closet.

Here’s a perfect holiday gift that your gift recipient will definitely wear more than once: a MICHAEL Michael Kors Sequin Tulle Skirt.  This black sequin skirt is fun and short and will look great for the winter and cruise.  It will become one of your go-to skirts.  The skirt is great because you have the ability to dress it up and down.  If you want to dress it up, wear a simple black blouse, black pumps (with sheer black tights if it’s cold), a bright colored clutch, and diamond-looking stud earrings with a cocktail ring.  If you want to dress it down, – which can be a cruise look – put on a white tank top, sandals (heels or flats), silver bangles, and aviators.

The skirt is $89.50 and will also look great for New Years Eve if dresses aren’t your thing: you can wear it about anywhere.  Get going shoppers, because this skirt is a holiday must.  Check it out on

Pomegranate Fashion- Fusion

In Clothing, Holiday on December 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM

After a stressful week in the city, my family thought it would be a great idea to go away for a night to get some rest and relaxation.  I’ll give you a hint as to where I am: it involves lots of chocolate…Hershey World.  A silly vacation spot, but it’s rather close to NYC and chocolate is my weakness – so yummy.  There are hershey kisses everywhere I go! Plus, the chocolate spa treatments and quaint boutiques are quite satisfying.  Although chocolate can be a great gift, unfortunately it doesn’t involve fashion.  Here’s what I recommend as a holiday gift today.

Pomegranate is by far the most popular color of the year and is the “happy medium” between red and pink.  I’m not a big fan of pink, and red is a little too strong with my complexion, so pomegranate is a good solution (i’m actually wearing a pomegranate sweater now). Designers have constantly been seen incorporating pomegranate into their collections, so by getting a girl a piece of clothing in this color, you’ll definitely be following the trends.

Monrow – a brand sold on – just came out with an adorable Gold Studs pomegranate blouse that is perfect for cruise and the holiday season.  The blouse has a hint of a tribal look yet the color brings glamour, the studs bring edge, and the deep v-neck gives it a sexy look.

For the holiday season, pair the blouse up with some tight black leggings, high-heeled booties, a boyfriend blazer, and a black fur vest.  You should definitely wear a gold purse with this look to bring out the studs – it can be a hobo or a clutch.  For cruise, you can find great Michael by Michael Kors gold linen shorts that are a little over $100 and will give you a bright chic look.  If you’re not comfortable wearing shorts, wear some skinny white jeans and gold sandals (a heal is your preference).  For a purse, you could wear a gold straw-esq bag for day and a clutch for night.  For both seasons, keep the jewelry simple with some gold stud earrings and cocktail ring.

The blouse is $144 and is available on

Sydney Goes To Dash

In Celebrities, Clothing, Holiday, On Location on December 5, 2010 at 9:41 AM

The Upper East Side was a madhouse yesterday.  My mom and I were looking forward to a shopping day in the department stores because it was cold outside, but Bloomingdales (who had an iceskating rink made out of plastic which people could “skate” on), Barneys, and Bergdorfs were jammed packed.  We decided that it was time to leave our comfort zone and make our way down to Soho on Spring Street: I put on my fur vest, my cheetah Betsy Johnson hat, and we were off.

First, my mom and I went for a cheese platter and Spanish donuts dipped in chocolate sauce at a tapas bar where I spotted socialite and star of CW11’s High Society Tinsley Mortimer and boyfriend Brian Mazza, who were seated a table away from us.  Then we went into some cool vintage stores where I tried on some Chanel jewelry and fur coats.  From there we went to Topshop,-I bought the perfect dress for Miami and Palm Beach: I might even wear it on New Years- then Bloomingdales (the downtown one of course), and finally Dash.

If you’re going to a place that involves the Kardashian name, you need to be prepared for a line.  Outside the Dash store was a line of about 30 people, yet there were only about 10 people in the store.  It was freezing out, so my mom and I kept running into this cute gallery to look at art until the one hour line progressed.  When finally being let into the store, I was a bit disappointed: it looked like an Intermix wanna-be.  Dash carried all the same brands as everyone else like Alice and Olivia and Torn, so why wait in line for the same old stuff if I don’t have to at Intermix? Well, because it’s a Kardashian store.  I think that the girls should start a mini upscale collection of their own and sell it at the store so it brings some diversity.

There was some of their own brand in the store like their new book Kardashian Konfidential, water bottles, Kim’s perfume, etc.  Most of the shoppers didn’t want to spend money on merchandise, so the only smart thing the store did was have a bag that you could purchase for $15 which had a Dash water bottle and candle in it.  It is said that the store makes $50,000-$100,000 a day, but I don’t believe that because the only thing that was being purchased in the store were those $15 bags.

Overall, my “downtown day” was a success: lunch/snack was delicious, the shopping was good, and going into to Dash was worth it.

Comfy and Fashionable With Ella Moss

In Clothing, Holiday on December 4, 2010 at 9:19 AM

The temperatures are dropping as the holidays are getting closer, so it’s tempting to put on a comfy sweatshirt to feel warm.  Sweatshirts aren’t particularly the most attractive piece of clothing, – with the exception of Free City sweatshirts (as an example) – so every now and then designers come out with sweater-like sweatshirts to give a more high end look.

Ella Moss just came out with a great embellished sweatshirt that looks like a sweater but will still let you be warm and cozy.  The perfect gifts can be the ones that you spend more time thinking about, and a piece of clothing gives that impression.  I love the color of the sweatshirt -oatmeal- because it’s warm toned and will look great with jeans, leggings, you name it.  The embellishing on the sweatshirt gives it some edge, yet the neckline takes it down with its slouchy and effortlessly chic look.

One wouldn’t necessarily -at least I wouldn’t – wear a sweatshirt out at night right?  This sweater/sweatshirt is different because it does have a little dressier look and you can glam it up with some great accessories and pumps.  I wouldn’t wear it to a fancy dinner to say New York hotspot Cipriani, but I would wear it to a more casual dinner on the weekend.

The sweater is $132, also comes in Sage (white) if oatmeal is not the color of your preference, and is available on  Get comfy and warm in this sweatshirt and snuggle up by a fireplace: fashionably.

It’s the holiday season which means resort time! It’s time to bring out your summer wardrobe and get ready to wear it in warm places like I’ll be doing in Palm Beach, Florida.  It never hurts to add some new cruise pieces to your summer collection, and you can sometimes do so at reasonable prices, with the occasional splurge.  Phillip Lim – whose prices aren’t reasonable – just came out with his resort 2010 collection that is drop-dead-gorgeous.  Below are my favorite looks from the collection: take this post as a guide.

What To Wear For Thanksgiving

In Clothing on November 24, 2010 at 5:40 AM

I am off to Canada for Thanksgiving.  I will first be in Toronto and then in Montreal, so expect some fashion updates!  Before I discuss Canadian fashion later in the week, lets focus on what’s going on this week in the United States: Thanksgiving.

A question that I have been hearing lately is, “what do I wear for Thanksgiving?”  Here’s what I think: you want to be fashionable, comfortable, dressed, and not have to change from day to night.  The simplest way to achieve those wants is to wear something that can be dressed down -yet still fashionable- for daytime and will work well into the night by adding shoes and accessories.

I know that I eat a lot on Thanksgiving, so I don’t like to wear clothing that will reveal how much I ate.  Wearing a blouse with leggings is the perfect outfit because you won’t feel tight as your devouring that yummy food.

Greylin just came out with an embellished grey blouse.  It will look great with a pair of black leggings, black or silver flats for day, and black pumps for night to give it that dressier factor.  In terms of accessories, put on a pair of diamond or diamond-looking studs, a chunky silver cocktail ring and a few silver bangles.  For your purse, I suggest a black hobo for day and preferably a clutch (in silver or black) for the evening.  Top it off with a boyfriend blazer and you’ll be set for the day. (In photo: Karl Lagerfeld and models)

The top is $98 and is available on

Mark Your Calendars

In Clothing, Shoes on November 19, 2010 at 3:51 PM

Mark your calendars ladies, because Lanvin for H&M is launching at select H&M stores tomorrow (Saturday November 20th).  Tomorrow will be one of the most exciting days in fashion of the year, so find a H&M that sells this new collection and get to it early so you can have first picks on your favorite pieces- the merchandise is going to sell out quickly.  This collection is for Lanvin lovers and those who love H&M prices.

Puffy dresses, floral patterns, neon colors, animal print, furs, coats, short silhouettes, pumps, you name it: this line has it all.  I’ve seen photos of the collection and let me tell you, it looks amazing. It is the ideal collection for girls who love to dress up at a good price.  The collection is most definitely dressy – perfect for those holiday parties – which is ideal because it’s hard to find a dress by a designer that is under $300.

The dresses run for $149-$249, coats run for $149-$349, and all shoes are $99 – Carrie Bradshaw would be sprinting at this point.  This collection is a great opportunity for those who love Lanvin but don’t want to spend a crazy amount of money.

Get well rested tonight because tomorrow will be a cat fight at H&M stores.  Get ready, get set, and go!

Flirty, Chic, and With a Glimpse of Holiday Spirit

It’s too soon to say it’s time for the holidays (although deep down you are so excited). You still  have to get through school, work, and all of life’s demands, but don’t worry because Hanukkah and Christmas will be here before you know it.  Although it is not time yet, the scents of the holidays are creeping through the air! Not just in Ralph Lauren’s windows that are decorated way too early on Madison Avenue (yet they are so pretty), but the influence of holiday season fashion in clothes, shoes, accessories, and more.
Alice and Olivia just came out with an effortlessly beautiful skirt (‘Tiered Lace Skirt‘) that is perfect for now and the holiday season.  Floral, nude lace,  and with a metallic silver finish, this skirt is a must.  As the holidays start to wind in, you want to look glamorous and chic on those city streets: it’s the time to get girly and flirty and feel just as bright and special as those Christmas lights – that’s how you’ll feel in this skirt.

I love an all nude outfit- especially in the colder months because you look like a breath of fresh air.  I see this skirt with this adorable Malene Birger t-shirt that is nude with black sketch-looking bows (it is $130 and is available on  You can then pair the skirt and shirt up with some great nude platform heals, a silver clutch, and some sheer tights if it’s cold outside.  Keep it simple with the jewels- go for pearl or small stud earrings.  If you don’t feel comfortable in all nude, you can also wear a black tank top and black boyfriend blazer- pair it with black pumps, black tights, same jewelry as with the all nude look, and a black clutch.
The Alice and Olivia skirt is $200.  Check it out on

Animate your wrist with none other than a watch of Marc by Marc Jacobs.  Colorful, cool, and chic, these three ‘C’s are important factors to have when purchasing a watch, and this Marc by Marc Jacobs watch has them.  What I love about Marc Jacobs is that he never holds back on color.  He uses his colorful aesthetic from his clothes and brings them to his accessories.

The watch is in two-toned stainless steel in blue/pink (to me it looks more purple than pink) and has the Marc by Marc Jacobs logo by the dial in chunky letters. The chunkiness of not only the letters by the dial, but the watch itself give it that statement factor.

This watch is more of a daytime/weekend watch.  It can obviously go with anything, but I think it would look great with some dark blue jeans and a colorful t-shirt like Marc by Marc Jacob’s ‘Morgan College Tee‘ which is available on for $128.  Slip on a leather jacket, some flat booties, and you’ll be set.

The watch was originally $175 and is now on sale for $122.50.  Check it out on

Leopard All Day

In Clothing on November 12, 2010 at 3:11 PM

TGIF (thank god it’s friday).  This week has been dragging along and I’m so happy to put on my weekend clothes.  Your weekend is packed with activities from day to night, so you want to wear something that is effortlessly chic.  The weather is relatively warm with a little chill, so wearing a dress is a great option.

Leopard is still in, so let’s take advantage of it.  You can see me in anything from a leopard fur coat to a leopard-print t-shirt.  Nasty Gal – an online shopping site that sells new and vintage clothing, shoes, accessories and more – just came out with a ‘leopard bustier dress‘ (a variation of a LBD) and does wonders to your body in terms of fit.  The price of this dress is just as fabulous: $58.  Now that is a must.

I would pair this cute dress up with some sheer or solid black tights with either platform pumps or high heel booties. If it’s cold outside, put on a black fur/feux-fur vest to give the dress some extra glamour.  If fur isn’t your thing, a boyfriend blazer will do the trick.

In terms of accessories, I would keep it simple- small earrings with a gold relatively chunky necklace.  You can even wear a cocktail ring  like the Amy Magic one I blogged about a few days ago.

Check this dress out on and you’ll be rocking this look from day to night.

Change Is Gonna Come

In Clothing on November 7, 2010 at 7:12 PM

Sorry for the late post – I just got back from spending the past two days with my friends in Connecticut.

Here’s a cool top from a cool brand: the ‘Change Is Gonna Come‘ cotton-blend t-shirt from Sass & Bide.  This top follows the military trend with its embellished shoulder panels (which I love) in gold, black, and crystals.  Plus, there are vertical stripes throughout which is also a popular trend this season.  *In the photo are the designers Sass & Bide.

Keep the top looking cool and chic by wearing tight skinny jeans and black pumps with a simple black purse (preferably a clutch).  If you want to go edgy, try a pair of leather pants.  Don’t go wild with those accessories – I would just wear diamond or diamond-looking studs.  Let the top be the center of attention.

The top has a good fit and will work for both day and night: a major plus when making a purchase.  Check out this top for $150 on

Embellished Shoulder Cardi

In Clothing on November 1, 2010 at 3:49 PM

Here’s one thing that you’ll need this week: a sweater.  Temperatures have dropped significantly and those Fall blouses probably won’t keep you warm enough.  It’s time to find those trendy sweaters and start wearing them.

One trend that I am obsessed with this season is embellishments on shoulders of sweaters, shirts, dresses, etc.  It follows the military trend but gives it a chic twist and is very good looking.  I found a grey boyfriend cardigan on Rachel Zoe’s picks on the Piperlime website by Smitten which epaulets detailed with sequins and chains on shoulders.  The embellishments are too much; it’s just right.

The cardi will look great with leggings or black skinny jeans and a white, grey, or black t-shirt or tank.  It’s perfect for those casual days around the city or you can even dress it up with a little black dress (LBD).

The cardigan is $154.  Start shopping!

Love Potion

In Clothing on October 28, 2010 at 3:00 PM

Comfortable yet fashionable t-shirts are a necessity for every girl.  Yes, the American Apparel v-necks are comfortable, but they’re basic and won’t give you that cool/hip look.  Why is the title of this post called Love Potion?  Because the perfume bottle on the t-shirt is a love potion.

The perfume bottle on this shirt isn’t just any bottle, but a Chanel No5 – a classic and elegant perfume.    This shirt will definitely turn heads- it has a great fit, look, and design.  It comes in two colors: nude and white – I like the nude.

The colors of the top are neutral so you can really wear it with anything: from black leggings to grey jeans.  For day, I see this top with grey jeans and black booties with a leather jacket, and for night I see the shirt with black leggings, a boyfriend blazer, and either grey or mustard yellow (to pull in the yellow from the love potion) pumps.

As you can in see in the picture, Taylor swift owns a version of this t-shirt.

The top is available on the Boutique To You website for $88.  As the site says, persuade him with a potion.”
