Playing with colors via clothes, shoes and accessories is something that I thoroughly enjoy. Whether mixing and matching or sticking to one hue from head to toe, color brings a level of freshness and excitement to one’s outfit. A color that is huge this fall is burgundy. It was all over the fall 2012 runway and is making its stamp with some of this season’s hottest pieces. A few of my favorites include my “Pashli leather tote”, an upgrade to my previous carryall that’s made going from work to social events extremely easy with its spacious size and balance between classic and contemporary, my peplum top, a comfortable and versatile piece, and my slipper-styled loafers that are boldly funky and are a must-have flat for the season.
What are your thoughts on burgundy?

With the spirit of the Fourth of July, I felt like sticking to a semi red, white and blue color palette for just one more day. Theodora & Callum graciously sent me this scarf the other day, and I absolutely adore the print as it channels the opulence of Turkish tapestries with its intricate oval detail and Eastern-embellished rectangular border. The turquoise hue is refreshing while the stamps of red add a bold pop. Red is a sexy and fierce color that can be worn during all seasons. I picked up the color from my scarf by wearing my Sam Edelman gladiator sandals–they’re lively with a playful pattern of thin leather straps, and the addition of my favorite animal print, cheetah.

Playing with patterns is a fun way to experiment within your wardrobe, especially via accessories. I like to do this most when my clothes are on the simple side, sticking to just one or two colors. There’s nothing like a pop of color, or in this case pattern, and what better way to do so than with some accents?
Mixing cheetah and stripes sounds like a bold move, but I love taking risks. Although they might sound completely opposite and a weird combo, I find that they attract due to the brown hue in both my handbag and shoes, and add a cool/funky factor. Since it was rather chilly outside, I decided to wear my PETTY booties by Sam Edelman. I love, love cheetah. It’s a sexy, wild and fierce print that looks chic during all seasons. Sam’s version is stylish and comfortable, making them my go-to. They add just the right amount of edge to dresses, shorts, skirts, you name it. They’re basic and cute and definitely come in hand.

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful and sunny day, so after meetings and lunch with girlfriends, I decided to head to one of my favorite spots in Central Park: the Boat Pond. It felt great to go back to my neon galore and wear some color for the day’s festivities. I decided to wear my new exclusive Equipment for Intermix sleeveless Mina blouse that has a fold over collar and single open slit pocket at the bodice. I love the romantic floral lace, which makes it a total femme classic.
I accessorized with a combination of neutrals and neons. There was no doubt in my mind to pair my outfit with one of my favorite Sam Edelman shoes, the ORLY, which has a chic and sophisticated pointed toe; I love the combination of cork and metallic gold. Whether for work or for a weekend out East, the Orly slingback is fashion worthy.

I have a
minor obsession with wearing little day dresses during the summer. Although the season doesn’t officially begin until June 20th, the temperatures are warm, so I’m starting early. As I’ve continued to separate my clothes into NYC and Hamptons piles, I’ve come across some older pieces that look as good as new.
I purchased this dress at a boutique in East Hampton, Obligato, 2 summers ago and added an array of both old and new accessories. My favorites? My brand new messenger bag (love the combo of clear and leather), my antique rings, and my YELENA shoes. These Sam Edelman color-blocked straps and metallic hues make them one of my favorite summer shoes. Whether paired with a dressy ensemble or casual weekend attire, they add a modern and sexy touch, which all outfits can most certainly use.

You know it’s in-season dans le Hamptons when stores along Main Street are hosting events one after the other. Sam Edelman celebrated the re-opening of his popup store in East Hampton with a shopping event yesterday afternoon; and, guess what? It continues today from 3-6 PM, located at 46 Main Street. Didn’t expect the sunny, warm temperatures? Forget your pair of heels? Go on over and pick out a pair of Gigis (or 2 for that matter) for daytime and a bold Lorissa (I’m loving the rose gold hue) for night.
While you shop, enjoy the perks of the event: a live DJ, Sam Edelman water bottles and sparkling pink lemonade and cookie pops that are Sam-ified with Sam shoes and bright glitter. Also, make sure to check out the new collection of handbags. Happy shopping!

Today marks my first busy Hamptons weekend of the season. You know it’s the start to a great Memorial Day weekend when the Jitney line is not only full of people, but designer totes galore and Hamptonite doggies attempting to escape their carriers.
I’m so ready to bring my Miami and Palm Beach wardrobe back to the East End, in addition to some fun new pieces that I’ve picked up throughout my shopping adventures. Longchamp and Prada totes, get ready.
Until my Hamptons coverage begins, indulge in my Friday Favorites: a classic Sam Edelman sandal with a twist, bright Essie nail polish hues (Lights is my favorite) for colorful fingernails and toenails, a Theodora & Callum scarf to keep warm while traveling, a bold Kate Spade hoop earring for a pop of color, Velvet Eyewear cat eye sunnies, and Trina Turk for Banana Republic ensembles (coming soon!) for just being girly, summery, and cool.
I’d love to hear, how are you spending Memorial Day weekend?

Although we might associate labels and love, there’s nothing like the good old mixing and matching. I’ve been out every night for about a week, dressed up in everything from a long sequin gown and a tight cocktail dress to skinny dress pants and sequin blouses. While I love to dress up, I felt like wearing quite the opposite outfit yesterday afternoon: jeans, a t-shirt, colorful accessories, and even a pair of flats, Sam Edelman’s ADENA to be exact. The shoe is the perfect go-to for some sparkle and spike, an edgy addition to a rather girly-chic outfit.
With a quick walk around The Frick Museum, an afternoon meeting and packing for today’s trip to Miami, this outfit did just the trick.

I arrived in Palm Beach early last night to celebrate Mother’s Day with my family. This weekend is the last hurrah of the season before everyone migrates to the Hamptons for the summer, and although it’s always hard to leave the island for 6 months, le vie in the Hamptons definitely makes up for it.
I wore this outfit before changing to go to the airport. It was 70 degrees, so running around in a pair of shorts sounded like the perfect idea. However, I still wanted to look street-chic, so I added my Sam Edelman ultra edgy LORISSA peep-toe pumps. They are truly show-stoppers and will definitely keep everyone around you in line. They come in a variety of colors, but the neutral is a classic way to go as it works with just about anything. My boxer bag and chain necklace also made for some trendy nudes, while my green ring was the perfect complement to my shorts.
I’m loving this color combo and am looking forward to wearing shorts all summer long!

Sam Edelman’s TACOMA platform peep-toe is one of my favorite shoes in his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. For one, purple is my favorite color, and the thick heel and touch of leather at the back of the shoe makes for the perfect, sexy, bold, and summery combination.
Since the shoes play with different materials, I wanted to mix and match the rest of my outfit to create a cohesive look by incorporating a neon patent leather belt, a quilted handbag, hexagon sunnies and an embellished cuff. The AM rain turned into PM sun, calling for a bright splash of sunshine via classic button down.
The simplest accessory in this ensemble is my skinny belt. I wanted to add a pop of color without being overly obvious by going small in size. Although skinny belts come and go, I still like to update my selection with the hautest hues; and if it were up to me, neons would never go out of style.
No matter what your personal style may be, a skinny belt can go with just about anything, from boho-chic (belt around a maxi dress) to preppy (over a cardigan).
More warm weather and sunny days to come!

I styled these Sam Edelman MABEL platform sandals for a beach beauty meets city glam look. I wanted to complement the bold platform with some edge on top and the braided heel with some casual beach-like flow on the bottom. Pajama pants are the perfect way to experiment with movement, especially this pair by Collective Concepts. I paired them with an American Apparel tank top and a Topshop vest. To complement the pants’ orange hue, I added a Topshop coral necklace, a cuff from Paris, and a Shanghai Tang clutch (which has a suede keychain that matches the suede of my shoe), keeping my Velvet Eyewear sunglasses safe while waiting for the sun to shine.

The social calendar is busy this week, starting off with last night’s launch of The Lady GODIVA Program, an international philanthropic endeavor, at Godiva’s Fifth Avenue flagship. Lauren Bush Lauren, co-founder and CEO of FEED, collaborated with Godiva to create an exclusive FEED 10 bag, which provides ten school meals for children in regions of Africa. Lauren and Godiva CEO Jim Goldman gave a speech to attendees about their efforts and the collaboration.
I wore this outfit to the launch. It’s almost as if these ODETTA Sam Edelman shoes (in Sunshine Yellow) were made for this dress. Not only is the pattern charming and springy, but the shiny metal detail on the modern block heel adds just the right amount of edge. The shoe comes in two other patterns: Black-White Paparazzi Pink and Red-Hot-Saddle.
Mark your calendars fashionistas, because Sam Edelman is making a personal appearance at Bloomingdales on 59th and Lex from 6-8 tomorrow. I’ll be an on-site blogger, so come on out and say hi and purchase a pair of shoes from Sam’s spring/summer collection.

A bright, sunny and rather warm day calls for the perfect pair of shoes. I wore this outfit for a bite to eat with a girl friend before going to see The Book of Mormon, one of the best Broadway shows I’ve seen.
I’ve always had an obsession with rose gold, incorporating the hue into my wardrobe with clothes, shoes, accessories, and even makeup. I was thrilled to come across Sam Edelman’s CHASE platform wedges in toasted rose. The sexy cork combined with the complementary contrast of leather straps and gold shine buckle makes for a chunky and bold look. Despite the ultra-high platform, they are extremely comfortable to walk in. I picked up the rose from my shoes in the upper part of my outfit with my sparkly rose necklace that adds just the right amount of glamour.
Suggestion: I like these platforms most with a straight leg pant as it elongates the ensemble without being too obvious.
Also, the shoe comes in two other color ways, mineral blue and natural, which are easy to match while still making a statement.

I am thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Sam Edelman as a brand ambassador. In addition to posting about how I wear my Sam Edelman shoes on a weekly basis on Style Solutions, I will also be guest blogging on Sam’s blog. I’ve been wearing Sam Edelman shoes since the beginning of my teen years, from the must-have Gigi sandal to the sexy and ultra edgy Lorissa peep-toe pump. I met Sam last year at his pop-up store in Palm Beach, and he was the first designer who I interviewed for my blog.
This first post features me in the Taryn platform sandal in Turq Time from the Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. I absolutely love this dressy strappy sandal as it is the perfect way to kick your outfit up a notch. The chunky heel makes the sandal sexy while still sophisticated and trendy, so it’s a great option for an outfit that you’d like to transition from day to night. Not only is the sandal the ultimate pop of color with a LBD, but it also acts as the perfect complement to an outfit that has a similar hue in it which you’d like to emphasize on even more, like my dress from Planet Blue. The sandal comes in 4 other color ways: Black, Egyptian Gold, Ice Shimmer Snake, and Ivory.
No matter which color you choose, the Taryn will give you some well-deserved Spring Fever!
